not sure... i was thinking about the maths of all this. if what's in the papers is true, barton wants us to give him a season's pay for leaving (to avoid us paying two seasons' wages). from a financial fair play point of view, that's a rubbish deal for us (something the great mind of barton can't see), as we'll have stumped up his annual wage in the accounts for 2013/14 whichever way it goes. if he spends a season in solitary, i think he'd probably end up paying us so that he can leave. let him rot... (or better, see if this training away from the squad (assuming its unauthorised by the club) constitutes gross misconduct, sack him and sue him for damages under services not rendered).

Just had a look on twitter, don't think he'll be at training today either, talking about being able to do pre season anywhere and going to play golf later!
        What a ****!

didin't he get "last warning"from the club after that Man City incident? So,he wants to get sacked because he didn't came to training and get his dream move to Marseille. I really hope that board play hardball with him. He's not bigger than QPR and we should let him know that

              "QPR declined to comment."

This says it all for me.

Should be sacked for not turning up if true

Agree. And yet in Monsieur Barton's infinite wisdom he believes: "You can do a pre-season anywhere as long as you have got a pair of decent trainers, some hills and drive inside to get fitter..."

Surely, QPR have rights to sack him without a big pay off...

                    Not turning up on purpose?

We don't know if the club has told him to stay away until matters have been sorted. He could be a disruptive influence in the camp and upset team-bonding.

If he's decided to go AWOL of his own accord and refuses to report for training, I'd guess the club's legal eagles will deal with it.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Has he actually refused to turn up or just not turned up? There's a difference legally if we're trying to sack him...

Whatever the reason, I hope this all ends soon. I'm sure Tony won't let Barton take berties over pay-offs.

I agree i rekon the club have told him to stay away same as last season when he done part of his pre season at fleetwood town. As much as we're attacking him it may just be the club forcing his hand and his quotes are trying to put pressure on the club. My guess is the conclusion will come soon and joey will get his way although not with the full amount he wants hopefully.

I think there is a reason he is not training (not just that he did not turn up). If he had refused to turn up or just not turned up I think the club would have said something. Neither Joey or the Club have actually said anything. It's also possible that since his loan period with Marseilles didn't officially end until July 1 (at least that is when I think it finished) he is given time to get back to the Club.
