The Sado's of 'Hanwell Community Forum' against our training ground.

As a primary school teacher in the hanwell area i have seen the plans with some people who work for the borough. I don't think the residents realise what we as schools are getting, and more importantly what the childrena of the area are getting.

There will be possibly 6 or 7 pitches for small sided games, which i have been led to beleive we can use regularly for matches or tournaments & also used for rugy tournaments if necessary.
In the summer these pitches then turn into cricket pitches - covering the majority of the sports played to competition level in primary schools in Ealing.

I was also led to beleive that these pitches are available for the local community to use after school hours.

I'm not saying they will not be a cost to use them but I'd rather pay for a maintained pitch safe for children & adults (Ie no chance of sliding onto a piece of grass) than pay a pittence for the dangerous thing we have there now!

Maybe I should join this Hanwell Group??

That's not a bad idea as you and your school will be key stakeholders of the project who potentially could miss out. Would be good to have members within the group who are not of the same persuasion so there is a balanced/alternative view

I don't know Warren Farm but it sounds like a right khazi. The residents should be pleased that we're putting something decent on the site.

played there while at school late 60's early 70's. Basic facilities and nothing in comparison to the plans Rangers have. Personally surprised no housing was part of our application, that surely would have been welcome by the local community

I could understand them kicking off if the area was one of natural beauty or a wildlife sanctuary but it is a total sh ** hole. It would not make a blind bit of difference to any locals as there are hardly any around it. I cannot see anything apart from a positive outcome for the council. OK if we get it 'cheap' consider the legacy for the locals. we are giving more than enough to them

With my little experience in this field... Once the forum members have been chosen, they tend to keep the same people though out.

Cause obviously someone could join up and start to balance their argument...They tend to be the do gooders who are at every local event and are very narrow minded.

The primary school teacher who added to this thread brings up some points that will help massively with the local community. I know Chelsea promised the world to the local community when they were planning...
