IF that leaked contract is to be believed then isn't this pretty much exactly what we have all been saying we want from the club:

2 year deal up with option of 3rd.
We signed him on a free but the signing on bonus was built into the weeky wage, otherwise it would be much lower.

Bonused on appearances
Bonused on staying in the league
Release clause if relegated
Option to break contract early if relegated.

Only addition would be to have a wage drop if relegated but the above 2 clauses look like he would always have been sold/released if and when we got relegated.

Other than the actual amount of the wage and whether he is worth it, I would be happy if our contracts were structured like this.

FWIW I quite rate Bothroyd. Never really got a run in the team and was shunted out to the wing a few times when he did play.

I think he would hold out until the january transfer window if it meant getting a move to a premier league club.
