Probably because he has high potential ratings on fifa. Sad, but thats how most people judge players these days, rather than actually watch them play.

Yes he was highly rated 2-3 years ago, but greatly underperformed more recently. 3 red cards in 18 league appearances he made season should is not a welcoming stat.

I remember everybody getting excited about some of the players we signed. Signing players for any team is a gamble, sometimes they work out and sometimes they don't. The players who worked out best were the ones the fans were not to keen on: Nelsen and to some extent Remy and Jenas. Don't remember too much excitement about Townsend either.
