Neil Warnock: No one else would score the goals to take QPR [up]. If the players wanted to have a verbal with Adel Taarabt we’d all lose’

As a former manager of Queens Park Rangers, Neil Warnock has first-hand experience of just how inspiring and infuriating Adel Taarabt can be.

Wrong book isn't it? the book about his time with QPR is The Gaffer.
Shows how far NW had to go to fit AT into the team. It worked a treat though i must admit, but also proves we weren't a one man team, cause without the rest of the players
joining in with this it just wouldn't have worked

I don't think we were a one man team but surely these comments suggest we were more of one than not? All the other players were doing if you read into these comments was allowing Adel to do his stuff and give him some leway. That's the way I read it anyway.

Yeah i see what you mean, but if the rest didn't cover him it wouldn't have worked. I did read he put it to Kenny,Hill,Derry and Heidur when they were in Italy. He asked them to go along with this plan as they were the leaders in the team and the rest would follow. Yes he did also say his reason behind this was that AT could do things they couldn't so you are right in that respect but we still needed the rest, and a clean sheet record certainly helped.

Without Adel we were very solid and difficult to beat. Adel provided the x factor and assists and goals to take us from probably playoffs to top of the league. So, yes, we were definitely not a one man team but for me it was Adel that took us from playoffs to Prem.

Only Warnock knows how to manage him, suggest you buy a copy of his book 'arryboy!

Of course we had to rely on him. The only strikers we had were an injury prone Heider, a headless Agyemang, and a useless Leon whatever his name was. Does it say in his book why he failed to buy enough decent strikers in the close season?

Guy writes a book about himself and thus we should treat it as gospel.

I know him. Big grey beard, lives on a cloud, artifically inseminated that carpenter's wifey a few years back?
