Warren Farm delayed by legal action

The future of QPR’s planned new training ground has been thrown into turmoil by a legal challenge from west London residents.

They call Ealing council’s decision to grant planning permission for the £30 million complex illegal and are preparing a High Court claim.

Things like this could only happen with us.

Problem is that this land is not really being used now, so I think it's a great idea and will make the area look far better.

Don't mean to be rude, if you go past this plot... it' looks like a dump, but some people like the look of it!

          Warren farm update

"Club aware of latest action regarding Warren Farm ...

THE club is aware of action being taken by the Hanwell Community Forum (HCF) against the London Borough of Ealing in relation to Warren Farm.

In response, the council have issued the following statement from Council Leader, Councillor Julian Bell.

‘During the toughest economic times in our history, the council is trying to secure long-term investment in high-quality community sporting facilities that will benefit generations of Ealing residents. Before this agreement goes ahead, QPR will have to commit to significant investment in Warren Farm and its public facilities, so to suggest it is a gift is nonsense. If this legal action results in a judicial review it will put the council’s finances under even more strain, but we will be able to demonstrate that the decision by our planning committee was sound and based on proper planning conditions, and that the council was acting in the best interests of the people of this borough.’

Queens Park Rangers Football Club remains committed to the project and will continue to work closely with the council to ensure that the planning permission and decision to lease the site to the club stands.

We will be making no further comment at this stage."

No doubt a load of Brentford fans getting together to cause trouble. Why else would you object to new facilities on your door step which improve the area and which you will be able to use part of

That was my 1st thought and then I thought there are always a residents protest group to object to these developments i.e. Arsenal's stadium, Brighton's stadium and I'm sure a number of other clubs have had to go through this process.
Same will happen if QPR ever get to announce a new stadium.

They have no real grounds to protest, because the site will be developed and the Community will get a new facility to brighten up the area nad to use.

It wont cost Ealing council anything and they will benefit from it (they wont have to pay to develpo it for some other use).

Perhaps the objectors should pay more council tax to redevelop the site so they can use it for whatever purpose they want.

Alternatively, they could just pay towards its upkeep without burdening other tax payers.

Either way, these objectors get their wish although it will cost them a fortune. Let's see how keen they are then.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

2015/16? The plan this time last year was to have it ready ahead of the coming season.

Hughes decided that, after Harlington was refurbished, there was no rush for a new training ground :(

MH would not have any input in this decision ,more than likely told there was no rush
