Why do we need Crouch? He's 32 will cost a lot and has 0 resale value, it feels like I'm trapped in groundhog day where we buy players past their best then all scratch our heads when it doesn't work out. We have already 4 strikers in their 30s. You don't get a discount for buying in bulk.

Gayle makes sense though. 22 strong, pacy and hungry.

don't understand why harry played Zamora when bothroyd played pretty well at reading(he also had a decent game at Southampton and got dropped)seems as though harry either doesn't like him or doesn't rate him,zamora is only half fit at least jay is fully fit.as for the above post agree jenas derry and adel would do a job for us but personally(hope im wrong)faurlin who cant get a game in a side as poor in their league as us seems to be struggling after his injury.

HR obviously doesnt rate DJ and Bothroyd as he keeps banging on about not having any goal scorers at the club. Personally think both players, particularly DJ would have done alright given half the chance. Certainly didnt see zamora ripping up many trees when he did play.

Had a clear chance second half to go for goal with a header, but chose, as ever, to lay it off. He has no eye for goal and no hunger to score. That's a fatal defect for any striker. Retire him though injury and pay him off with the insurance

This is 100% spot on. He doesn't play like a striker and has no threat to the opposition goal. I have never understood the fascination with him as never been that great, and especially from HR while he's admitted he's not fit.

HR played him in too many games knowing he'd effectively need to be subbed leaving us with only 2 tactical sub options in matches... stupid decision. Add to that the fact Bothroyd was playing very well since battering West Brom in the cup at their place and he should have been starting matches instead of Zamora. The fact HR choose Zamora instead, was not only stupid becasue Bobby wasnt fit enough, but because it also served to massively knock Bothroyd's confidence no doubt.

I think he's made of rubber. Absolutely everything bounces off him.

Will be a nightmare starting next season with him up front. I notice now also he doesn't bother jumping to win headers he just kind of raises himself up on his feet. Get rid & get a young hungry pacy player for next season.

Ric, very true, but i wouldn't say it's anything new. He's hardly ever jumped for balls, instead always searching for a defender to back into and shield the ball. sometimes even when in space he'll move towards a defender for this, instead of using the spoace to his advantage.

Bang average player. Even worse when injured.

Must admit he's had games where he's been brilliant, Arsenal at home last season springs to mind when he gave their 2 CB's a torrid time, other than that I'm struggling. Very poor player in all honesty.

Zamoras going no where. Small op in pre season , 3 months to recoup and he's there for the season. Prepare yourselves!
