Nelsen has lots of say in the signings, the owners,MLSE have lots of money and there is a good sized Asian community in Toronto! MLS is a very rough and tumble league with poor refereeing as Hogan is finding out, I'm not sure if Park would be up to it! In saying that I wouldn't mind Toronto FC taking a chance on him,it's not my money and we can"t get relegated!@gatorTFC

My guess is that TF will ask Park if he could accept a pay cut, and Park will probably agree to it to help the club bounce back next season. It's been said many times before, but the man doesn't need more money, and I doubt he wants to leave without making good.

Yeah, Park doesn't need anymore money. The Sunday Times, ranks Park as the 17th richest active player in the English Premier League.Originally posted by Joon View PostMy guess is that TF will ask Park if he could accept a pay cut, and Park will probably agree to it to help the club bounce back next season. Be interesting to see if anyone has any statistics as to what tangiable financial benefit the Asian market brings. Are we selling 100k park shirts etc.
The tv income is divided between clubs so I presume we get no bigger share of foreign tv income.
I can understand the benefit to say a club the size of man utd who are still the most indebted club in the world but do we really get 75k or whatever parks salary is back per week from other sources. Our sponsors are simply our owner so not like Daiwoo have joined us.
For clubs domestic tv rights is the big cheque nothing else compares.

Worth keeping a sh1t footballer that takes up a place in the squad to sell shirts that i doubt cover the cost of his wages? nah get rid. Fergie got rid of him because he wasnt good enough for PRem football and i doubt he will be any good even in the Championship. Will Fernandes decide to keep him to sell shirts AND help to promote his airline? thats a different story.

The truth is that not even Park can sell enough shirts to cover his salary, so he will only be asked to stay on if TF and HR still believe that his combined value as a footballer and marketing icon exceed his salary. We'll find out soon enough, unless some club makes an offer that is hard to refuse.Originally posted by vblockranger View PostWorth keeping a sh1t footballer that takes up a place in the squad to sell shirts that i doubt cover the cost of his wages? nah get rid. Take a quid if it gets him off the wage bill. He cant even get a game in one of the worse sides in the league (if not THE worse) and sits there on the bench earning thousands. Keeping a player in a squad place for being a "marketing icon" is just plain wrong and would never have happened under anyone other than Fernandes. At least at Man U he earned his place.Originally posted by Joon View PostThe truth is that not even Park can sell enough shirts to cover his salary, so he will only be asked to stay on if TF and HR still believe that his combined value as a footballer and marketing icon exceed his salary.
