Hopefully he'll be banned for the rest of the season, meaning it will be so much easier to secure that 4th straight win to keep us up...

Love the bloke. What a player, and I done a few pinches and grabs when I played, hurts like ****! Can't say I've ever took a bite though.
One thing you can't knock he would run through walls for his team

I can't help but find myself liking him n all. Orrible lil farker, yes, but exactly as you said he don't half put a shift in for his side. Any team would love a player like him in their side.

Up there with Yaya, RVP & Bale - not sure if the very best though, in my own opinion.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

IMO you can never say he is the best player in the country as he often gains an advantage out of deceit, nasty piece of work. would like to see him leave the country if im honest

if i had to pick one i wanted in my team,it would ave to be Yaya...can play anywhere..i bet he's even good in goal
anyhoo,as for Goofy..the trouble with him is...not having him...like Liverpool will have to do,cope without him when he gets banned.I wonder if he's like Roy Keane...they always said if you took the nasty side out of him,he wouldnt be the same player

He should get banned longer than what Barton was given.

It's the second time he has done this, he loses control at any given time and should be put down from the sport for good.

Not defending him, but why should he be banned from the sport? what about players who purposely go into tackles to hurt an opponent? a broken leg or severe ligament damage is worse then a bite mark on the arm that would go in a hour or two.

It's totally wrong what he done, but come on people calling for him to be banned for life, or for Liverpool to sell him is way over the top.

I don't think that was a good example to our younger audience, I bet there will be quite a few kids that will try this in the playground at school.

I think the difference is that those "bad" tackles at least derive from the point of the game......tackling is an integral part of the game. Biting an opponent on the other hand is just plain wrong and has no place in the game.

I agree though Chris, some of the calls are a bit much. Cantona, for example, did something worse when he went into the crowd, and he wasn't banned forever or hounded out of the Country.

At the end of the day he's a top top player and the EPL needs as many of those as it can get.

I think protecting a country's children should come first, that was disgusting and far worse than what J Barton did.

                              Barton....

Marseille midfielder Joey Barton - who has previously received anger management counselling during his own career - spoke out in support of Suarez.

He wrote on Twitter: "You cannot defend Suarez's bite. Its not defendable. You can however defend Suarez the man, the player. Ok, he f*cked up. He'll be punished.

"People are going on like he's actually eaten someone. Nobody has died. Worse things happen in nurseries every day of the week.

"He has came out and apologised. He'll probably get a ban. He'll no doubt be fined by the club. He is a human who has made a mistake."
