Nice to see a bit of informed writing based on actual facts, rather than the usual scare-mongering "QPR to go bust within a year" stories in the red tops that so many people (including some QPR fans) seem to thrive on.Originally posted by californiahoop View Post

I'm in the building trade, just confused a little bit ..........
'QPR' has taken a £15 million bank loan TO build a new stadium AND it's going to be paid back in 'as little' as 4 months .........
What firm are they getting in to build a football stadium for 15 mil ?
How at they going to complete it in 4 months ?
."Steve, do you think 25k is a good option when there are indications that within four years, new stadiums on average have increased attendances of 60%?
For us that would mean around 29k."

I've been trying not to read any of the waffle about new stadiums to be honest, I'm in the Facto camp, if we can't fill LR 100% in 2 years in the premiership not much point as a FOOTBALL club renting ( I presume ) a stadium surrounded by Nandos/Odeon/Asda/M&S outlet etc etc etc
BUT hey it might be a concert venue/arena/stadium so thats ok FOR THE OWNERS & THE MONEY MEN not sure how thats going to benefit QPR (as a family ) ............ But hey ho we must play with the big boys !
Sorry for rant mode, 2 gits not turned in today !"Steve, do you think 25k is a good option when there are indications that within four years, new stadiums on average have increased attendances of 60%?

Its quite simple really ..............
You identify a suitable site and pay £ 10,,000,000 for the land ..THEN
You get an architect to draw up a set of fancy plans for a state of the art stadium with all the necessary infrastruture , retractable roof , roads etc and pay him say £ 4,998,000 THEN
You get a bunch of *****s to tarmac the site entrance for £ 2,000 cash ...THEN
You phone Cowboy Builders and get Dom and Melinda to finish the job for free !!!!
Simples !!!

This, as was Dave McIntyre's article, was based on a briefing given to selected journalists by the club (don't forget Wilson was the one who wrote many of the feel-good stories when Hughes arrived). In actual fact, it's partly the 'scaremongering' that has forced Fernandes and Co to partially reveal their hand, that and the questions being asked about the Barclays loan - and also as a taster for potential co-investors. Tony F is an exceptional PR man and it is easy to take everything he says as gospel... he tweets that he is not saying anything more about the ground, while at the same time getting one of his team to brief about the ground!Originally posted by THE CAT View PostNice to see a bit of informed writing based on actual facts, rather than the usual scare-mongering "QPR to go bust within a year" stories in the red tops that so many people (including some QPR fans) seem to thrive on.
However, before we wet ourselves too much, please remember that the long game they are playing is first and foremost about the ground rather than Queens Park Rangers FC - the club is a means to an end rather than the end itself. We of course benefit from that by increased investment in the club, but that is also why relegation (despite the loss of income) is not quite the tragedy to them that it is to the supporters.
All this suggests that the club isn't headed for the dogs but that it could quite possibly be very different to the one we are used to (which could be a good thing I suppose).
