I don't know what's in his contract but if there is a release clause set at a particular figure and that figure is offered by another club then subject to agreeing personal terms he doesn't need QPR's permission to leave. I really hope he hasn't got one of those, he is without question our best signing of recent years.

Anyone know if he actually does have a release clause or not?

If it's £8m then someone's going to get a great deal

Tbh it's near enough impossible for fans to know unless another manager blubs it out (Like the Ba one)

As for a bargin. Jezz no kidding but don't forget what a bargin we got him at too
        Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
        And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Anything that keeps Loic Remy in QPR ownership, will be absolutely fantastic.
But ideally, my faith in the modern footballer would be completely restored, if Loic came out and stated he would honour his contract at QPR, and score the goals that gets the club back in the top flight.
Plus, at least with us, he would have as much of a chance of getting a winners medal, as at anyone we might loan him out to, if not better.

IMO, this lot have the chance to do so now. Not Only Remy, but Samba, Hoilett and Mbia and others. Townsend would be great to have on our book, wouldn´t he

Yes, Townsend would be great to have, Shania... but I seriously doubt Spurs will sell him. Wouldn't rule out another loan spell with us though.
And yes, a championship winning season has to be an attractive proposition, even in this day and age. Would be different, if we looked set for years and years in the wilderness.
Imagine, we are flying in the championship, looking set to be crowned champions once again, I think that Loic would be sorry to miss out on that, were he on loan to somebody else.

We got mugged off if the clause is £8m. With his form at the moment he's worth at least £12-15m easy.

He will have relegation and release clause in his contract. TF tweeted something about these clauses when we signed some players this Jan IIRC.

Also, QPR are VERY unattractive. We were bottom, looked certs to go down, have the smallest ground & crowds in the division and so on. All this means we have to give good players everything they want in the contract negotiations. That means stupid wages and all the clauses in their favour.

He will only be a QPR player next season if no one wants to pay his wages and he is happy to take the higher salary.

But why cant TF, give him a HUGE payrise?? Loic, townsend and Samba will pretty much mean automatic promotion.

Townsend is one of the best players I have seen this season, actually.
And Like you suggest,we should really go for a loan again.

WHat if Loic does and AJ and gets injured for the entire season. Too much risk imo, plus he's already on some huge salary.

Championship teams do not need a current French international to get promoted, although it would make it easier :/

OK, I see what you mean. AJ can also do a job for us if he stays injury free.

Only paper talk say's he has a release clause usual amount of garbage from tabloids, clubs are not going to broadcast the ins and outs of a players contract, it's called data protection.

If he has a clause no doubt his agent will let the world know as soon as we are mathematically down should that scenario play out.
