Should we change our penalty and free kick taker?

Marshy when we can list the good ones from 25 games on one hand with fingers to spare, we know there's a big problem..... I thin kFabio and Traore could probably hiot better dead balls than Adel as well as Granero, would like ot know if they try in training. They may all be as sh1te, but they can't be any worse.Comment

Not so sure about kicks around the box either they very often go over the bar or hit the wallComment

Whether his record was as good as that or not (i don't recall) the point is HH was the designated taker. so he should've left him to it and allowed him to concentrate on the kick, not justify why he was to take it. Also, at the time, ADel's form was shocking and HH was very good, so i know who most would prefer taking it at the time.
As for FK's around the box, not sure why you're so adament Adel should take them. I never think he;'s likely to score and often they're as poor as all other dead balls. Example on Saturday second half when he ballooned one over, i hoped but didn't expect him to trouble the keeper... i actually was more optimistic when Jenas stood over the ball for one late on, and that says something.Comment

You DO realise, dont you, that the conversion rate of free-kicks even for players that are considered good is around 3%, yes?Whether his record was as good as that or not (i don't recall) the point is HH was the designated taker. so he should've left him to it and allowed him to concentrate on the kick, not justify why he was to take it. I saw Tarbs score a great one for Morocco, he brought out a brilliant save by Ruddy at LR last season, he scored a decent one against Spurs (which Friedel should really have saved). The one he ballooned over wasn't that bad, it was only 2 yards too high. Jenas' free kick was awful, lacked power, lack swerve, and it would have been an easy save for the keeper. Plus he has never scored a free-kick, so don't know why you would want him to take them.
As for HH, yes, I would have gone for him too for the penalty over Tarbs, but Tarbs was struggling and needed a goal, so he was desperate. It's not a major thing.Comment

At no point have i said i want Jenas taking FK's, i said i was more optimistic when he stepped over his one than when Adel did his, that's all. Out of the 2 however, at least Jenas' was on target and beat the wall and who knows what might've come of it had Mackie not run across it and got in the bloody way... normally if Adel's are on target they go straight into the wall. My preference though would be GraneroYou DO realise, dont you, that the conversion rate of free-kicks even for players that are considered good is around 3%, yes?

As for conversion rate, yes it will be low for anyone granted, but good FK takers more often than not trouble the keeper at least... Adel very rarely does, they normally consist of hitting the wall or flying high or wide.Comment

i agree with having granero take corners and free kicks from further out and from positions where you can get a cross into the box, but imo adel is much better at direct free kicks around the box and penalties. his corners are shocking though.Where's Granero on the poll...???
When he's on the pitch, Granero should be on all dead balls. Much better than Adel. Also if he's in a shooting position around the box, Hill (as captain) should get hold of Adel and keep him the F$%k away from the taker. He whines and kicks off that he should be taking it instead of them and it only puts more pressure on the taker to produce.
He did the same last season when we got a pen against Chelsea and was arguing with HH to take it even though HH was the best taker we had... Barton did what a captain should on that occasion and pulled him away and luckilly it didn't affect HH too much, but could of.... If he hadn't scored that, we'd have been relegated. I'd like Hill or Harry, to tell Adel what he needs to know in no uncertain tersm sometimes.Top Scorers 2018/2019
