I don't get why posters are saying he wasn't treated more sympathetically by the club. The one things that unites fans is the remoteness of footballers to every day life, however suddenly when the boss at a club comes down hard on the player, everyone turns into ACAS.
JB was given the captaincy, good wages, long contract, previous misdeamors forgotten ,not punished for previous red cards or his tweets clearly showing his love for his former club plus a clubgiving him the opportunity to be centre stage for their huge ambition. Unfortunately for a club our size and our international marketing ambitions, his behaviour infrontbof TF at the City game was probably viewed as what broke the camals back. TF and Mittals are obviously nice blokes but they aren't filthy rich by allowing people to take the **** out of them. Apart from humiliating the new brand of QPR in front of a world wide audience of millions, it also looked pathetic as kompany would have killed him given half a chance. Also by Barton grassing on other players ( who were innocent) showed he has no loyalty to his team mates, I never seen this before and clearly if he has no loyalty why should the club have any.
We should be backing Mittals, TF and MH as no one is bigger than our club.

Well regarding red cards Cisse put us in as much danger of being relegated as any player with his manhandling of a player and a reckless challenge at stadium of shite, but no one has selected him for a witch hunt.
Anyway as a number of us have said no1 priority is QPR, Joey's going and I for one am so bored of this, anti-barton posters have got what they want so why go on about it?

Pretty much. Barton's a plonker and always has been. Decent player but his attitude stinks and he almost got us relegated, proving what a liability he really is. Not to mention his embarrassing intellectual posturing. Although it's not saying much, frankly I preferred him when he went around dishing out beatings rather than quoting Morrissey and Nietzsche.

What i think is wrong is just the way the club, or i assume in fact MH, has chosen to go about it. If they're gonna punish him, so be it, but why don't they just tell him what the score is up front... are they scared to speak to him or something??

All it would take is to pull him in for a meeting and say Joey, you've let yourself and the club down, you're now unavailable for nearly half a season so you wont be in the squaed or given a number. We'll try and send you on loan for the season, preferably abroad so you can play during the ban period and we'll assess it at the end of the loan.

How difficult would that be... Yes he embarrased the club, but i also think the revelations about how this has all been treated by the club is also an embarrassment, and that's nothing to do with him.

Do we currently have anyone better in his role than him? No - so a shame to see him go.

Was magnificent against Spurs/Arsenal and Swansea at home last year. Led by example with effort and bossed the midfield. Never gave any opposing midfielder a second on the ball. Had his bad games as well but when he was good so were QPR..

You seem to forget his performance vs Liverpool and other games he gave the ball away. Ok he was a good mifielder, but If you compare his positives vs negatives, I would say I am glad to see him go. Thanks for your short stay Joey and good luck in you next step.

He was on a huge wage, played poorly for at least 50% of the time he was with us, got sent off twice(including during a game our survival depended on), rumoured to have caused dressing room unrest, slated Taraabt publicly, got in a bust up outside of a nightclub, brought the club into disrepute with his public twitter slanging matches, said he dearly missed Newcastle because they're a proper club(whilst still our player). It ended with a massive public rant at the expense of our football club, and his parting shot was to attempt to dissuade Mbia from joining us. That's not to mention his criminal record the length of my arm. Am i missing something here? That's really the type of person we want at QPR?

If you read this MB and i am inclined to think that you do then take no notice of the smarmy type of new age football fan that we seem to have been infected with (Fulham have a lot to answer for!) We will miss your combativeness and aggression, we will miss your heart and desire to win, we will miss your hatred of losing and most of all we will miss your leadership. A true working class hero!
