Vargas loan was with a view to a perm, but has shown enough already for me.
Need to snap him up in Jan Window as price tag may increase next summer if continues to shine!!!Comment

Think he will want a bigger club. Hopefully we can convince him we can be that bigger club..Comment

Charlie For me, he has got his best years still to come and appears not to want to extract every last penny from the game.
Though, I would still welcome another top striker to the Bush.I have supported Rangers for 55 seasons, since March 1969.

Vargas is that pacy striker Dave
Exactly Kevin, he's quality and I think his understanding with Isla is part of the reason for that success.
We will get injuries of course so the real question is do we want to repeat previous mistakes of signing 'tabloid names' who cost a fortune on long contracts only for them to rot in the reserves or sent out on loan with us paying 90% of their wages for the remainder of their contract OR quality 'unknowns' to come as squad players ..........
You know the sort, Kevin Doyle, Karl Henry or Gary O'Neill who most people moaned about as not be good enough for the Mighty R's, but they were exactly what we needed, squad players !
Hands up who thought Karl Henry would end as one of the names you are glad to see when the team sheet comes out.

For us that would mean around 29k."

I tend to agree with you, but I wouldn't put Kevin Doyle in that bracket. Apart from scoring on his debut he did very little before getting injured for the remainder of the season. Yes right attitude but a very average past it player. He lost a yard of sharpness. Henry is the real star. I slated the bloke and I really do have egg on my face. Bloke has been fantastic and like a new signing. He is like a better version of DezzaVargas is that pacy striker Dave

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!Comment

My point being we are starting to look / play as a complete unit & I wouldn't upset it by bringing in a 'star' on big money, when what we need is someone hungry to step in when the injuries do start up front.
Absolutely agree about Henry, we were discussing his play in the upper loft Saturday & along with Vargas, we couldn't spot a fault in 90 minutes."Steve, do you think 25k is a good option when there are indications that within four years, new stadiums on average have increased attendances of 60%?

Understand and agree with what you're saying Hoopz but just think Defoe could step in and get us goals. He knows this division and he could be useful BUT ONLY for the right money/contract!.... at the same time we've got to be very careful not to upset the balance of the team as it seems we've finally got it spot on, and Defoe would need to fit in. If there's any doubt of disruption then obviously stay well clear!I agree with your constructive criticism about Doyle WEARE.

Both Austin and Vargas are a guarantee for Premier football. If we cannot cope with holding such players, then we have no chance of establishing ourselves in the Premier. However, knowing how TF handled 'big names' players and how much he was willing to spent to make the club successful, I see no reason why both can be awarded with a good long term contract. Money talks you know!Comment
