I'm a big fan of Harry's..(as you may well have guessed)..but if TF is willing to spend big on the likes of Caulker, but not Rio then i have to say i support him.
Not against Rio signing but it would make more sense to spend big on a player that should last longer. Hope this disagreement if true doesn't leave us without Harry as our manager

So he'll only play for the money, we need the right players who want to be here and play for us.Leave a comment:

Oh, sorry mate. Hadn't noticed the title previously to our discussion and thought it had been changed off the back of your info from the all knowing redLeave a comment:

Not everyone looks at it this way mate.Nick was right the first time. TF himself has said that we have to be more long term focussed and that buying players on the way down is not the way forward.
For every Rio we have to invest in someone at least ten years younger and three seconds quicker over 100m.... Slow CBs mean deep defending, and since we have no pace anywhere else that means 90m all hands to the pump. We'll be relegated with that approach anyway, so we might as well start looking longer term.
There are talented young players available (the young Mexican CB, Kokorin, and others who would be on a lot less than 80k) but Harry is an old man and a bit suspicious of youth these days.Leave a comment:

think rio alongside caulker or even ned would be fantastic for us this year. Dont expect 38 games but 20 decent games against our rival and he could be invaluable to us even on 50 k a week.Leave a comment:

Good post dubsand what would that achieve, having a poll? Doubt it would change whether Rio signs or not. If Harry thinks he's still good enough, and wants him at QPR, that's fine by me. Reckon Harry knows the ins and outs about Rio more than any fan ever could.... that's a given fact of course.Leave a comment:

Excellent postFirstly, Rio is obviously not the player he was but would still get in at least 10 premier league sides.
His wages are not my concern, I don't pay them but let's all remember the wages we won't be paying (probably Mbia, Adel, Remy, etc, etc)
In the last 2 seasons Nelsen and Dunne ( both ageing and so called knackered players) have been superb for us.
Ironically, Samba, the defender we spent £12 million on, was one of the worst since the days of Gus Caesar.
Harry took on a shambles, got some of the problems shipped out, brought in some players he felt he could trust and still got us up at the first time of asking.
Everyone on this forum is a great manager.
I think we should give Harry more credit and trust him to make the right decisions.
We haven't signed Rio, it's all talk at this stage, so let's see what happens.
How much would Nedum learn from someone like Rio, not to mention the younger players at the club.
If Rio does come, he'll get my backingLeave a comment:

Just so you know mate I wasn't digging you out or anything, I just hate that statement lolYou know what Ginge I actually agree with you mate. I stand by what I said in the rest of the statement, but the bit highlighted I hold my hands up and admit its wrong. The main objective at this stage is to stay in the prem no matter what. Also I'm a big believer in bringing in experience as well as youth. And you could argue that the experience players wont be here for the future. So yeah I make you right.Leave a comment:
