It's easy to fill a 40k stadium if it's priced right. Please read the post first

Btw as a side note. I have been to New York twice (fantastic city) and both times have been taken along to a NY Giants game which i enjoyed the different experience. I watch the Giants if they are on Sky and i even own a Giants baseball cap.....that make me a fan? because even though i go to watch when i am in town and i have bought merchandise and even though i watch them on TV and want them to win i couldnt really give a toss about them when it comes down to it. Obviously nothing compared to QPR. So is that the kind of fan i want populating an over large stadium supporting QPR? no it ****ing isnt.

very good points made in your last 2 posts vblock.
with regards to your 2nd post about casual fans.. I'll say that I fully agree.
What I was talking about however is not the casual fan like you are of the giants (go 49ers
), but rather mates like mine who came with me last night. Lad lives in Tower Hamlets and supports Hull (2.5-3hrs away by train). I reckon it wouldn't be a farfetched idea that he'd buy either- a ticket package,
- adult membership,
- or even a season ticket,
should there be more comfortable seats, that we see some decent success/exciting football (don't have to be prem), and we keep prices reasonable (we are in London after all, and the bloke makes decent money).
I know far more in London who are in that situation.. and I live in NY!! Surely there are loads more graduating from the London Unis every year who- move to london after uni
- make a decent living
- and love good football
Those are the chaps I reckon can be the additional 5-7k that would regularly come to the new ground (call them 'the fringe' if you will), that would add to our 14-17k 'hardcore'.
I want it known that I do not want 10k away fans or a whole heap of tourists and nobs at our ground either!! Would rather live with my scraped up knees!

sitting in the back row G block at half-time the usual rush for the khazi, grub etc. The queue went right to the top of the stairs and did'nt move for 5 minutes. A lot gave up the ghost and sat down, archaic and needs updatingI must away now, I can no longer tarry

Agree with you Lyme it does but theres updating and then theres moving to a 40k stadium for the benefit of the owners and not for the club. Somewhere in between lies the right solution.Originally posted by lymehoop View Postsitting in the back row G block at half-time the usual rush for the khazi, grub etc. The queue went right to the top of the stairs and did'nt move for 5 minutes. blimey, Rangers fans agreeing, whatever next, we've missed some golden opportunities to satisfy everyone, when we had the chance to purchase land at the school end, if only TF was in charge we could have redeveloped LR to 30,000ish and made everyone happyOriginally posted by vblockranger View PostAgree with you Lyme it does but theres updating and then theres moving to a 40k stadium for the benefit of the owners and not for the club. 25k small compact with the pitch close to the stands like we have now. Break my heart to move from LR tbh Ginge but if it truly must happen then its got to be 100% right for the club and not in any way influenced with what would be "more" right for the owners. Beard has been onboard from day one for this very purpose so we can see how much this means to the board and i dont want them using the club to get what they want.Originally posted by Ginger Ninja View Post25-30k would be enough imo. with room to expand if we needed to.

And i dont wanna share it with Kylie ****ing Minogue or 1d...whats next a dopey looking Michael Jackson statue outside? We are a football club and should have our own stadium not a multi purpose load of ****** just to earn TF a few bob.Originally posted by vblockranger View Post25k small compact with the pitch close to the stands like we have now. I don't think we can waste the opportunity to build a stadium big enough to hold major events other than football. It won't be worth the owners while to only build a stadium to hold 25k imo.
As i've said and Ninja too the answer is to be able to add seats. Wasn't there a stadium in Japan with retractable seats?

Deluded am I? Well, where's your evidence to suggest we'll never be bigger that a sub-19k stadium club? It seems you are dead keen to keep us in a small stadium that has 13% restricted views, poor facilities, and cramped seats. Some of us would like to see our club have ambition.Originally posted by vblockranger View PostActually mate the character and atmosphere at Loftus Rd is second to none its just that a lot of fans that frequent the place at the moment havent had much to sing ot shout about. Everyones favourite second stadium is LR and commented on by co comms, other pro's and even other clubs fans. Atmospheric with the pitch being so close to the stands and the whole place is rocking when the fans get going although tbh you probably cant hear it in NYC :-). Want to replace it with a 40k stadium half full of plastics/tourists/neutrals? no thanks. Dont get reeled into that "oblivion" cr@p that Richard spouts..the blokes deluded.
Now then, my evidence. I remember the chairman stating we could've sold twice the number of season tickets while we were in the prem. He has access to the club's database, you do not. With so much money at stake, it would be inconceivable the club hasn't carried out a feasibility study, something you've neglected to do while you continue to spout nonsense.
I am willing to back the board to do the right thing and improve the infrastructure of the club, such as an academy to develop new players, and a good stadium for them to play in. Our board consists of successful businessmen, people who have made millions from their enterprises. Have you achieved such things in your business career?
All you ever do is moan. If it's not the players it's the chairman. If it's not the chairman it's the new stadium. If it's not the new stadium it's fellow supporters. Give it a rest will you?
The club heading for oblivion? How easily you forget the history of the club. The proposed merger, the buckets, the share collapse, and administration. Do you not realise we've been close to oblivion on a number of occasions pre-Fernandes, or have you conveniently forgotten all that?Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

WOW ............................ I'm in a new cliqueOriginally posted by QPR Richard View PostWell said Arthur.
As you rightly say, it would be difficult to imagine the club not carrying out any kind of feasibility study when there's £200m at stake, and a major sponsorship deal from Air Asia a part of it.
Of course, I have no idea if such a study has been carried out, but I'd be surprised if there wasn't. Successful business people like our owners don't gamble, they take calculated risks.
The 'gang of four' on here (Vespa, Vblock, NW Hoopz, W12 Ranger) have hammered the move without carrying out their own feasibility study, and they present no evidence to say the proposed move will be a failure. The only argument used is that of the current fan base.
These people have a perfect right to oppose the move if that's what they want to do, but their argument consists of abusing those who think it's a good idea. Because one of them sits in platinum and enjoys his 'match day experience', it doesn't mean the rest of us do.
IMO, our future isn't going to be that bright in a cramped, sub-19k stadium that has 13% restricted views and isn't fully covered. With FFP on the horizon, we need to substantially increase our income so we can compete, not just on the pitch, but for the hearts and minds of future generations.
If the 'gang of four' do not support the regeneration of our club, fine, but there's no need to abuse those who do.
Gang of four .................... can I be Shirley Williams ?
The last bit is a lie Richard isn't it ? We all accept somebody owns the club AND they are looking to move to a multi purpose stadium, what we don't accept is that playing in a 40k stadium is in the best interests of the average joes matchday experience.
If you look at the voting only around 17% of people who have voted for a stadium over 33k and a palty 7% for a 37k and upwards stadium.
So it would seem by this very small poll that the majority of supporters want a maximum ground capacity of 33k , I think the 'gang of four' will have to get a reprint of membership forms going, looks like we are going to be busy.
As for the feasibility study, of cause they have done one ( or many ) and the results are in .......................
The investors will make a fortune out of 'an entertainment venue' !
What that has to do with little old us rattling round a half empty stadium I don't know

For us that would mean around 29k."

If we are gonna get a New Stadium, then I don't blame the owners for wanting the best !!
Push the boat out and get a roof as well!
I think the owners know that a new stadium is a money spinner.
Without a Doubt, Our New Stadium could bring in so much revenue if designed right.
Boxing, Concerts etc with only London's Nightlife only a short tube ride away .

Oh right, well perhaps they'll take your advice and not bother to build a new stadium, and just focus on their entertainment venue. It seems you are ITK when it comes to the fan database and potential growth figures. Frankly, I'm surprised the board didn't hire you and your mates to carry out the feasibility study as you seem to possess a deep knowledge of this subject.Originally posted by NW_Hoopz View PostWOW ............................ There's no news from the naysayers or any campaign to persuade the board that a golden future awaits us by staying at LR and that a new stadium is folly. Perhaps you should use your deep knowledge of this subject to convince the board that staying at LR is the best thing for the club. After all, we don't want little old us rattling around in a half empty stadium do we?Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

"40k or oblivion" i believe is your catchphrase..like i said earlier...deluded. As for the other stuff cant see why you make it so personal? You trust the board and the chairman 100%
Anything they want to do has your 100% backing
You believe they are the best thing that could have happened to the club
Buckets blah blah...oblivion blah blah...
We get it..you are a staunch supporter of TF and maybe you are Phil Beard himself just dont get all upset when someone disagrees with you. You have put your case across a hundred times and its the same old stuff. I remain unconvinced and nothing you will post will convince me that TF only has the best intentions for the club in mind with this 40k multi purpose monstosity so go get upset with someone else Dicky boy your wasting my time and yours.
