its a forum right, I want people to give me some reasons why? Thats all - Like I said, and I clearly have to say this now because people get aggy about being questioned.

It would be unfair for me to say he shouldnt be captain without reason.

1. He isnt a leader
2. He isnt a fighter IMO

Personally, I think the whole captaincy thing is over egged a bit in football. Other than calling heads or tails before kick off, it's not like in rugby where the captain pays a pivotal role & is the only player allowed to speak to the ref. Half the time in football, the captaincy is given to fluff an ego (Adel anyone?).

A player that's a leader will be a leader regardless of wearing an armband or not. IMO of course.

Hill and Derry as club captain and vice captain, they have been here the longest and are both clearly captain material.

Just need someone all players respect and will listen to. Can see, dependant on appearances, a mix of Hill, Derry and Dunne being Captain for this reason alone.

Depends on who plays regulary and out of Barton,Dunne,Hill and Derry i couldnt tell you if they will hold a regular place or even if some of them will still be here. Three days from start of season. Only at QPR. If they all start regular in the first 11....Barton is a leader and would be our best midfielder.

Any one of those three would be a logical choice but I'm guessing none will play sufficiently regularly enough for it to happen. As others have suggested I would have Hill as Club captain all day long.

irrespective of personal opinion on the bloke I can't see any way Barton gets near the arm band. His previous misdemeanors would make it a contentious appointment any way but I think we all know he will (if selected) gather more suspensions than a fleet of Range Rovers. Add to that his pre-season shenanigans and lack of proper match fitness and he can't be a stand out choice can he?!

That leaves the likes of Simpson and Henry but I wouldn't go for a new boy if I was boss. Doubt Ale F will get the pitch time and, as much as I love him and think he will be a star this year I reckon Neddy's got enough on his plate.

I feel that's a bit harsh, he's played consistent games for many a season now. Last season could be down to bad luck but alot of players will get that. He's had a rest & should be fine
