  • Resting Players....

Well that back fired. In hindsight should have had the weekend off so players had more days to rest before midweek game. Playing it we have now played more games then most and lost to one of the worst sides in the league. Would have also given us more time before window closes to get final faces in so a disaster of a decision all round

Plus never want to hear again 3pm kick means better atmosphere then early kick off as everyone has been crying out for 3pm but it was empty and flat totally no difference between midday and late kick off both are s hite

Oi Nigel son, you need one last game before you leave Burton for ypur boyhood club and the the club your dad made his own?
You do...... do you also need three points to take the club your leaving out of the bottom three?
    You do.
Okay okay play QPR away son, sorted.

yes i seems odd to move a game and then rest players because they have 3 games in a week!

Exactly 3. Changes team to rest players as game in midweek but begs question if players needed rest before Newcastle why move the bloody game forward to today they could have had ten days rest had we not played makes no sense at all

Can't believe the mentality in 'resting' players with....

..the Newcastle game coming up. A 1-0 defeat would be a top, 'triffic' result for us there. We should, on the other hand be beating teams like Burton. Also, isn't it still conceivable that yesterday's defeat might swing a possible signing AGAINST joining us (a good thing if its Matt Smith, I'll grant you).

            Didn't the club realise...

...that had they stuck to Tues 14 Feb with our new recruit(s) bedded in and me over from Australia we would have beaten Burton with something to spare!

Very poor decision by ollie . Let's face it, we will lose to Newcastle anyway so forget that. Should have kept same 11 yesterday as previous 2 games, taken Burton seriously and got the 3 points .
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

How did anyone need a rest? We hadn't played in a week and yesterday was a game at home against a team just behind us in the table. Should have picked the strongest side and certainly shouldn't have dropped Manning who's been excellent.

Typical ain't it? Perform against the big guns and lose to the sh#t around us in the table!

Exactly. Newcastle will probably beat our best team even if the players had just had a fortnight in the Bahamas so set out to beat the team in our mini league and put pressure on the others.

What was the point in bringing the game forward if players needed resting ffs

The only thing we can hope for is a shock result up North on Weds! Ollie clearly got it wrong and admitted it and looks like Manning and Mackie will be back in the team along with the lad Goss!

Hopefully the lads will be bang up for it and we might sneak a positive result. I also think away from home at Blackburn the lads will come good!

If he wants to rest people , if anything , do so against Newcastle as we will lose anyway. As above , very poor decision by Ollie IMO.

And what was the ten minute tutorial for Mackie before coming on? How long does it take to say "We need a goal son"?

                            Why move the Burton Game......

If this is true that we rested Manning and Mackie yesterday, which listening to Holloway does seem to be the case, then why the hell did we move the Burton game to yesterday ! Surely everyone talks before making a decision like this? Really hope this decision doesn't come back to bite us, as with 2 hard away games next, we could be just a couple of points outside the bottom 3 by this time next week and have played a game more than the rest.

Surely it should've been the Newcastle game to rest players , is it just me or does anybody think we'd get more than 3 points by beating Newcastle , maybe I'm wrong but you get the same 3 points beating Burton so play for strongest side against the weakest oposition
