The biggest threat to our planet today?

Plastic. We've got to stop using it pronto. Go biodegradable. Demand shops do it. What's the alternative?

"Plastic pollution risks 'near permanent contamination of natural environment'"

First global analysis of all mass–produced plastics has found humans have produced 8.3bn tonnes since the 1950s with the majority ending up in landfill or oceans

quite frightening the rubbish on a little stretch of beach near me. Rubbish has always been a bug bear to me, whether it's people dropping litter feet from a bin or those idiots who sling their dog poo bags up a tree
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble

      I blame Terry Venebles

We are destroying this planet, slowly but surely.

That'll be the next thing the government sting us for.

            A plastic tax, you watch.

                  Organic tampons!
Just watched a segment on morning news that states the plastic in tampons is also adding to the problem and that women should consider organic tampons.
I knew it was women's fault that all this c rap is turning up on the beaches.

                    Agree Hubs.

I'm an avid scuba diver and have traveled the world for my hobby. It's actually pretty disgusting to see how badly man has damaged the seas just in the shallow waters that I dive in. I hate to think how much plastic and other non-biodegradable material is sitting at the bottom.

Unfortunately I don't see a fix for this problem. With so much of the worlds population unaware or not bothered about the extent of the damage mankind is doing to the planet, it will always be a losing battle in my opinion!
