discovered a decent chippie in Pembridge Road, Notting Hill. Run by Italians, a bit pricey but the quality makes up for the price

cheers Hubs, amended in my initial post. Up a day early for the game and frequented my favourite watering hole (Churchills). Just happened to mention any decent Fish and Chip shops nearby to one of the local 'characters' and he steered me to this fine establishment. No I haven't Lymes, but thanks for the tip, but I will definitely go there now, I love fish and chips!
PS The Churchill is a great pub, I never think of going there before a game but it's a good call.Comment
