    World cup becoming 40 or 48 teams by 2026

    FIFA are considering having 40 or 48 teams in the 2026 world cup finals. Thoughts?

          It would mean too many games, more chances for teams to get through to the knock out stages and therefore more teams doing what JFH does and park the bus

              Would be ridiculous imo, far too many games unless they make it a straight knock out comp

                  Should be the elite only, so back to the format some years ago when excellence was the objective as opposed to proliferation; 16 teams, and 8 for the euros.

                      Increase the teams, get rid of the groups and have a proper knock-out tournament.

                      The football version of Wimbledon.
