    Wigan v QPR match thread

Green; Traore, Hill, Nelsen, Bosingwa; Taarabt, Mbia, Derry, Diakite; Wright-Phillips; Mackie

Subs: Murphy, Ferdinand, Cisse, Granero, Fabio, Hoilett, Faurlin

Faurlin's back on the bench, and it looks like Park's been dropped completely.

Match Thread - SWP starting again

Green; Traore, Hill, Nelsen, Bosingwa; Taarabt, Mbia, Derry, Diakite; Wright-Phillips; Mackie

Harry taking a big chance playing SWP again when we all know he aint got it in him

Was hoping to not see him play again for us tbh

One of the most frustrating players to watch

I hate to be a negative nancy, but where on earth are the goals going to come from in that side.
              Prove me wrong Rangers.

Played well last week.. Need a performance today! Please no more early goals.. Cutting our own throats in the first 5 minutes! Glad Harry has stuck with Mackie up front.. He had a great game last week and put in more of a shift in 5 minutes than Cisse does in 90!

No Captain Ji? Good news. Shame that Nedum isn't on the bench instead of Anton F.

Just need that one and then it will flow, think Harry will have everyone taking shots at some stage.

Derry scares me. But in Arry we trust .

Can't believe Derry is starting. He was absolutely awful when he came on last week, and Wigan have a very mobile team. Can't see him getting near them. And I worry about the supply to Adel with no Faurlin/Granero in the side. Hope Adel doesn't have to drop too deep to get on the ball.

SWP haters - it makes total sense to play him in our current set up. If we're playing Mackie up front and dropping Cisse to the bench, who else is going to break beyond the last defender to get through on goal? Adel certainly wont, Granero and Faurlin prefer to play in front of the defence, and Diakite and Mbia will be too far back to provide a threat in behind.

I know SWP isn't great, and he tends to be pretty useless when put through on goal anyway, but it does make sense to play him. He wasn't all that bad last week, by his low standards

+ SWP provides natural width high up the pitch unlike anyone else in our squad, bar maybe Mackie but he's up front of course.

Against a team with a back 3, it'll be useful to have someone working the space in behind the wingback, pulling the CBs out of position.

Happy with the team. Granero was awful last week, and Derry was solid when he started at Man U. Need some leaders on the field, especially away - Derry, Hill and Nelsen will certainly provide this.
