I predicted 3-0 and if not for that top draw strike I'd be on target.
I think we have enough to contain Portsmouth from here.
I suspect they will go large (although not sure who they will bring on) and Ronnie will drop back and we can bring off someone like Saito for Varane and still be strong defensively and even more of a threat on the counter still with Poku/Vale/Chair/Burrell still on the field and then having to commit to try and get something back.
Only negative so far is Kemper coming off. Hope that sunderland lad has a decent preseason.
Blimey, 1-3 looked highly unlikely after 30mins, we looked sluggish and 2nd best. But, kept plugging away, couple of scuffy goals and we seemed to grow on confidence, energy and application culminating in a lovely 3rd.
Bit worried when Adamson had to come on at LB but he's done well. Ronnie's yellow was inevitable with Segevic constantly chucking himself to the deck, might have to think about subbing him if he gets pinged for any more fouls.
Kamara looks solid! Suprised Lloyd substituted Burell and not Kone.
Yes! Fantastic to have a new acquisition who can be thrown straight into the action - makes a change from the normal waiting them to heal from injury or catch up on their missed pre-season.
Kamara looked fit, strong, composed and tuned-in. Could be the "box-to-box" player we've been screaming out for - I was very impressed with him.
Have to hold my hands up and admit I never saw 3pts coming, just assumed we'd get bullied and outworked by plodding opponents. Reckon that was a surprisingly powder-puff Pompey BUT we capitalized on their weakness and put in a very competent display of game-management in that 2nd half... only concern is what, THREE, players limping off. Would do my head in if players started dropping like flies again.
On way home & what a great day out at Portsmouth, wasn’t sure of the line up but well & mostly controlled the game after going 1-0 down, atmosphere unbelievable at away end, few beers & brilliant day out
