In terms of development we have coaches galore, psychologists etc and good training ground and facilities. Given the lack of improvement in many players are we seeing enough value emanating from that?

Signing and playing young players is NOT the same as improving and developing young players. Theyre two completely different things that must not be confused.
I accept its not really JS's fault if the young 'uns are duffers but I will jump on any post or opinion that suggest JS is developing the kids or should get credit for using them.
Basically, I point blank refuse to give JS credit for developing and/or improving players. I think it's easier to put forward evidence of him doing the exact opposite to players... Kone, Saito, Vale and Varane have deffo gone backwards over this season. Nobody is growing or flourishing in my view.

I think what the media experts mean when they say a coach develops young talent actually means he plays them. Which in JS's defence he does do. I think we need to judge JS next season when a) he has a fit squad b) Has managed for a season in the division so knows how to shuffle the pack in these dreaded 3 game weeks.

I think the plan of JS developing bright youngsters is bringing them in for cheap, 'developing' them and selling them for a profit. None of our own academy graduates are cut out for this grade, last two I can even think of who were are Eze and Chair.
Last night puts our season to bed unfortunately, I won't even go into the injury crisis we have. I think come the close of the season, we as fans need some form of explanation, because this certainly isn't normal.
On Chair, I think his 'injury' ties in with some form of community service he has do for doing someone round the head with a rock, could be wrong.
Onto the 2026/2027 campaign...

You may well be right, but thats what he was brought in to do alongside the recruitment of young players. If the powers feel hes failed then he'll be gone. Didn't he get recruited on the basis of some young player that went on to much bigger things? The same as Sherwood used to dine out on giving Harry Kane his debut?Originally posted by Abseits View PostSigning and playing young players is NOT the same as improving and developing young players. The team certainly blows hot snd cold and thats fown to the manager.
As I've said previously, the owners did £19m on this club last season and we've done the Eze £9m windfall and the table doesn't reflect progress. Citing hitting 50pts to avoid relegation being a prime example. The way things are going getting another 9pts to match the last two seasons seems a long way off.
This is a weak championship and not once have we hit 6th, even for one day having plsyed more games than others.
It's not good enough

Another hiding. A few of those this year. But this league is quite weak and very odd. Remember recently Bristol City 0 Derby 5 and Millwall 1 Portsmouth 3. Any given day it seems anything is possible. I no longer believe the myriad of faults that beset most Championship clubs seem to have, are generally soluble. We are all just wallowing around in a sea of averageness. The type of players/managers that we are all looking for to help us move forward, are generally not available, at least not to clubs like us.
Blame, I feel, lies with the way that the game has evolved and is still evolving and particularly The Premier League.
I love QPR and this forum but we are basically not in control of everything that we would like to be.

JS fails. What to go up? I hope we don’t as nowhere near ready for prem yet, lack of players has decimated our season & that’s not down to JS, so frustrating to watch & inconsistency, keep JS & see how he does next season when we have fit players

I’ve grabbed a couple of the reload deals myself, and the rollover terms were pretty reasonable. If you’re hunting for a mix of cash and free‑play offers, checking out Bookmaker promos has made it easier for me to find something that fits whatever bankroll mood I’m in. The crypto bonus especially came in handy when I wanted a quick boost without jumping through too many hoops.
