I would agree but after 30 games, this is wearing thin. To say its not just his fault after a certain amount of games, actually it does become his fault. Yes other strikers have missed their chances, yes there are games where other strikers havent had any service. Yes there are games other strikers haven't been getting into position. The difference is, other strikers have also scored whereas he doesnt. That is what is separating him to be our worst striker.

Keep the same team me thinks. Can only get better.Originally posted by stainrodisalegend View PostWe were very poor in the second half but we are so much tighter this season - previous years we would have given away a late calamity penalty. Sets us up nicely for Saturday.
Adoma worth a start, or at least more than five minutes each match?

nothing special take the win and move on, Willock looking good gives us some pace, As for you know who D, well it seem he gets great chances doesn't look like he's going to score, had a lot of chances manly early in games, which would have either settled us down or possibly won the games, his confidence is probably on the floor, but got a feeling he may just not be up to this standard,

For Dykes I still say it's a move to a new club, new league, new city in the middle of covid and ghost football. I dunno what his personal circumstances are but maybe the lad is struggling to adjust? I would definitely give him more time, at least until Christmas before considering loaning him somewhere. However, I genuinely believe he will come good for us before then.
You might suggest that he's a tough Aussie getting paid £££££s to stick it in the net and needs to shape up or ship out - however, it's more nuanced than that and we should bear with him I think.

For me the most frustrating thing with Dykes is he set Kane free with some decent link u play and nobody can fault his work rate or commitment its just the convertion of chances is woeful. He may be better off playing 2 or 3 u23 games when we aint going to go up or down and see if he can knock a few in. also in his defence he played in a pi33 poor scottish football league and this championship is unforgiving and his misses are propably more highlighted with Austin already scoring more in 12 games or so. 1 from open play is poor but it is what it is and also Bonne has more from open play in less game time, personally i dont think Bonne is any better and Dykes probably would benefit if they could train more but due to games coming thick and fast is play recover and repeat. I hope he clicks and gets confidence back for his and the clubs sake and turns out to be a good investment only time will tell but at present if he and bonne needed to go to fund Austin on a permanent i dont think any one would keep either Dykes or Bonne.Originally posted by Abseits View PostFor Dykes I still say it's a move to a new club, new league, new city in the middle of covid and ghost football. No it is not his fault we only scored 1 goal and yes others missed chances too, but he has consistently fired blanks - 30 games 1 goal from open play. The chance he slashed well wide of the target was a good one and the second he couldn't sort out his feet.Originally posted by Macca View PostFfs give the guy a break so it's his fault we only scored one according to bbc other players had chances and missed the target but Dykes gets hammered for one chance, people on here are just using him as a scapegoat and its the same people.
your not fans get behind the player and not pick on a half chance that comes along, yet its OK for other players to f uck a chance up.
He needs a rest from the 1st team and should get his act together in the Development team.

From what I have seen Dykes has lacked real confidence, so every missed chance, pass or control makes it worse and you could see last night he was struggleing,. For the games pre Charlie he wasnt getting enough decent service. Yes the crosing from the "wing back"s was sh1te but for me another cuprit has been Chair. Too many past games and even now Chair elects to shoot rather than pass. Typical was the game last night with the game not won Chair went for a shot with Charlie in a much better position note Charlie had a word! All said, like Dykes they are both putting in the work for the team.Originally posted by stanistheman View Post
