Even a decent manager will lose matches. The point with Ainsworth is that he seems to get a lot out of very modest resources. He appears to be a good motivator and a good tactician and he has proven he can spend a limited budget very well. That's the main requirements for our next manager. I guess there are actually quite a few managers out there that fit this bill and don't cost a fortune. Ainsworth has the added dimension that he loves the club and has the support of the fans as an ex-player. That's not the case with most candidates.

I couldn't care less if it isn't always pretty to the eye. Football is a result business and how we get the points on board is less important. If the style of play is important go and watch Champions League. Clubs with limited resources and mediocre football players tend to be more successful with a direct approach built on good work ethics than possession based style of play. I rather take an ugly win than a pretty defeat.

Done for next season. Stick a score on while you can still get decent odds.

All successful business comes from making decent decisions and our club could find a decent take away. Ipswich went for lower league manager who over achieved this season now dropping to league one, personally I was impressed with Barton at fleetwood and hill. Not knocking Ainsworth as we all know what he’s about just think it may be too much with such a crap squad imo.
