Agree. Bit of a flukey goal to concede. Although they had lots of possession we had a glorious chance first half which Smith fluffed and Sylla should of buried a chance from 6yards with minutes to go
Woefully ineffective up front unfortunately mate. With hindsight, it wasn't the right game to play Smith up top on his own. And as great as Eze looks on the ball, he needs to get more involved in the game in the final 3rd if he's playing that number 10 role. Lot's of work to do. We have to go out of our way to get a striker and a centre half in I think.Comment

Should have also said Mass looked totally shot for someone who has had three months off. Well off the pace today far better player on him then we sawComment

Which turned out to be pretty much spot on.
Not a big fan of 4-2-3- (JFH's favoured set up) becuase it leaves man up top isolated.
Also very easy set up for opposition defences to deal with....
The only way it can work is with real pace from back to front, ie French style.
With the right service, wide and deep, Smith has a decent %. If you don't service him, there aint much point.
We looked lacking in confidence, but at the end of the day had a couple of decent chances and gave them a goal.

We won that league because we had a 10 who compared to the rest of the division was world class. Plus he was given free reign, with one instruction - to stay up. which means we didn't really play 4-2-3-1.
We did today and your saw the exact problem I highlighted.Comment
