Used to climb over the wall at Bevington junior school at breaktime across the road in the early 70's just to get a 2p Saveloy never tasted another meat Saveloy that ever came near was only in there last week for a bag of chips lovely family R.I.P George you were a legend to the youth of the grove.

Very sorry to hear George has passed away, I remember him serving in the Golborne shop back in the 80s, he was a great character.

Spent half my childhood in there and the one he owned on the bridge playing defender,pacman,track and field etc..knew george and family personally-lovely pple. Back in the day the golborne rd had a real tight community and georges was a big part of it. Best chippy i was ever in....spare ribs/kebabs and specials were a must. Too many stories to tell about the gaff...R.I.P GEORGE
