Like the line up. Interesting idea playing burrell out wide even though didn't look as dangerous as playing up front. Smyth on the left I like and vale playing along side madsen makes us more attacking. Yes chair not sure his best position but what I will say if we need to keep ball he does make that happen, so I'd say maybe the tempo goes through him and something Js should dictate to him as we could do with a higher tempo to lift the team at times of games as we manage periods in the matches.Between the attacking players mention including kone they can play different positions within a game that could be useful -
Totally agree re Chair. He doesn’t offer anything! Lightweight, plays the ball sideways, awful at set pieces particularly corners where he can’t seem to beat the first man. We look better and quicker without him!
More importantly why is he even starting? Couldn't care less about his embarrassing dyed hair. Pls start vale on the right and stick burrell up top with kone. Chair is a bench option from now on. He just slows everything down and has no end product. Overrated and now he's here for good. Rather give vale/poku a start on the right and keep smyth on the left.
I haven’t studied the stats where he did play last season but in the 4 games he came back in at the end of the season we lost all 4!Leave a comment:

Forget the penalties (although they were awful). That’s just a c**p part of the game. Hope we haven’t made our last signing. If we have, we are making a big mistake. Need at least 2 more, particularly a tough midfielder (Like Hayden only better).
Final word (at least from me) on the Chair issue. I think his game is completely at odds with the way that Madsen needs to and can play.👍 1Leave a comment:

We clearly used that game to give Madsen a run out. Shows how poor Wall were that they didn't lay a glove on us even with Mads just strolling about. But, we barely tested their keeper so we paid the price for the lack of cutting edge.
Need to step it up on Saturday at Fratton Park but I have a sinking feeling that some of them were as good as they can be today and they don't have another level/gear in them.👍 2Leave a comment:

Madsen should have taken the set pieces, but wasnt probably due to his injury last week?Leave a comment:

Starting to see chair adds very little as he did today, we constantly played it on the air to land of the giants , if it went out on the wing , no quality crosses.
Burrell no good wide.....Edwards played well so did varane when he got on .Leave a comment:

Typical Rangers losing a game they dominated, Millwall showed nothing until Mbengue and especially Charles gifted them a goal.
I hope JS learnt Chair and Vale should not both start, Kone and Burrell looked sluggish and Lloyd certainly livened it up.
Early days and we did look decent at times, until 4 shocking penalties.
Crowd packed into SA Road stand made it a long hot day, I sat in Row A and got cooked.Last edited by Romford Hoop; 08-08-2026, 03:45 PM.Tags: None- Featured
