we battled and had some forward threat and a big striker which gave us some presence up top.
Love Adel but I've said for a while he's been counter productive and not helping us
As I said in another thread the time to be entertained by the R's passed after the dire results at home against Reading and Southampton. Give me 10 more gritty hardworking performances like that with the same result too the end of the season
Lurking on a Saints fans forum and the overwhelming view seems to be that we won because Samba had Lambert in his pocket all match. When Lambert is nullified they don't seem to know what to do going forwards. Not sure I agree entirely as they still had the chances to win it but I did think Samba was immense, although still looked a little slow at times.
Thought we were awful all over the pitch under Hughes but Harry has solidified the back and yesterday was better going forward too. The players looked more like a team than I have seen all season, albeit still a poor one.
Samba is a rock but my only concern is we have now conceded two goals from players running off him, bit like he is ball watching, and not also keeping eye on players around him. Goal yesterday and the one at Swansea
