3-5-2 is the only way of this mess

we need to start leaving ourselves a bit open just to start attacking teams, it worked for wigan last season play with 2 wing backs.

I would play with just one at the back, Cesar. No defence, no midfield, no forward line. Just Julio between the sticks. 0-0 against ManUre.

I think Fabio has to be one of the wing backs as he has an engine and puts a shift in. Think Traore defensively could leave us a little bit to open, so dare I say we try Bosingwa on the right and Fabio on the left as wing backs. You could even have Bosingwa as one of the 3 centre backs and leave Nedum on the right

Three at the back does have to be a serious option now

Could be a good idea trying to control the midfield and when defending 5-3-2. Taarabt up top with remy. Mbia, Derry and Granero center.

I think Wigan did that last season in a simular position.
              Kept the faith!

Wigan still and always have played 5 at the back anyway, haven't they?

I think towards the end of the season they started playing three up top and went for it, if I recall rightly they were three up at Arsenal in 20mins

yeah 3/5/2 is the best for making the most of poor players. harry/hughes are too attatched to their 442s

                    onuoha - samba - hill
                    fabio - diakite - mbia - granero - traore
                    remy - taraabt

I'd take mbia out of that line up and stick townsend in.

I put this in the "team for swansea" thread for last week.

                        3-5-2
                        --------------Cesar------------------
                        --------Mbia-Samba-Hill--------------
                        Traore-Jenas-Derry-Townsend-Fabio--
                        -----------Remy--Adel---------------

If Zamora is fit then him and Remy are easy picks as the front 2 with Adel dropping into midfield.

As formations go 352 probably makes better use of players available than any formation with a 4 in it.

But tbh with any formation the players need to give a $hit which has not been evident for most of them for most of this season.

Hill would be crucified at those positions.

Doubt he would but tbh there is going to be some big holes in any formation because the players are not good enough.
So either there is no real attack with Adel getting crucified as a false #9 or Granero folding under pressure and getting crucified in CM or Mbia+Derry getting overrun and crucified in the middle or Remy trying to play lone striker and getting isolated and crucified etc.
It is all a bit 'rearranging deckchairs on the titanic' anyway but 352 does get 2 strikers on the pitch and has 5 midfielders to try to cover for the general lack of quality there.
