He's one of those players I wouldn't rate him at all but he always scores goals and at QPR at the moment we have got the opposite with people like Vine and Helguson people who have a name but don't score the goals to live up to it! So he probably would be a decent buy not exactly a marquee signing though!

Better than anything we've got so an improvement, although that is not actually saying very much.

John Stead, is this the John Stead who went 11 months without scoring a goal!!!

doesn't really fill you with excitement does it!

but would you expect anything more from our board at the moment, i certainly don't.

he's a typical QPR signing at the moment, not wanted by his club, so we dive in, when are they going to learn!!!

the only way to get out of this league is by buying "Quality" players & not "hand me downs"

I'm starting to wonder if the board really do want to get out of this league (where they would need to spend an absolute fortune) or just stay in this league playing the "Billy Big Bollx" think Flav loves to be the "Big fish in a small bowl" rather then a "Small Fish in an ocean"

think that's why he hasn't gone for any big players, he couldn't handle a player being "bigger then him" so to speak.

                Surely, that can't mean...............

It could make us really kick on, and we'd be a shoe-in for promotion.

                etc...

Awful signing, if true of course.

Knee jerk reaction to a very poor start to the season. Our business should have been wrapped up weeks ago. Now we're plumbing the depths to shore up an expensive and under performing squad.

LOL, that means then we have Helgusson, Pellicori and Stead as target men...

Sounds to me that the board have written off Helgusson & Pellicori already! :D

Well I think the board are panicking now as they realised that we have no forwards to score goals..... But what annoys me is that we should had sorted this problem out in the summer months before the season... There is even talk of a left back in bale and another midfield player in watson coming, so does that mean the board lost confidence? How strange QPR can be!?

He's distinctly average, no better than we have imo.... if he's so good, why does every club he ever plays for ship him after what seems like no time at all.... how many times has he moved ffs.

Stead was a fantastic prospect early in his career. I think he was at Uddersfield and then Blackburn?? Then he went to Sunderland and couldnt buy a goal. Maybe he's one of those players that excels at one level but cant quite make it at the next, plenty of them around and doesn't make him a bad signing.....well, not necessarily ;-)
2011-2013, 2 seasons in the Premiership, 76 games, 14 wins........two years of my life I'll never get back!!

2013/2014 mediocrity topped off with a win at Wembley....

2014/2015 was pretty much the same as 2011-2013.....

                            2015/2016, average at best.....

                            2016/2017, same old, same old....

                            2017/2018, aim low, avoid disappointment!

Its the hope that kills you!

Stead is a Championship striker, nothing more. He'll hardly score more than 10 goals in a season imo. He might be better than what we got at the moment but in the end we'll end up with another average striker. I say leave him, we'll just get disappointed.

Donny wants him on loan, just as Palace..
