This season he scored a great goal against West Ham and then again against WBA but then he went missing until the Fulham game. That game seemed to give him confidence and he's started to work a lot harder and become more involved.

However, just because he does a few step overs or occasionally nutmegs someone he's some sort of hero. Granted, I love him to bits because he's got the ability to change a game but if we're talking about consistency at this level, he's been poor since we've been up. I can count numerous times when he's given the ball away or not tracked back which has led to a goal.

Mackie might not have the dazzling skills of some of the others but he'd run through a brick wall for us and is a defenders nightmare, plus he's our top league goalscorer since we got back into the premier league. Put it this way, if everyone had the same attitude as Mackie then we'd be nowhere near the bottom of the table because hard work gets you everywhere in this game. Look at the best teams in the world, it's not all about their flare players, 90% is when they don't have the ball, watch how hard they work.

Finally, Harry has seemed to have got this into the players heads and all of a sudden we're getting results. Give me Mackie all day over 90% of our squad.
You obviously werent at the 0-0 against Newcastle at LR last season when Tarbs ran the show, and it was only poor finishing by others that meant we did not win.

Who's talking about the last 18 months...?

If you actually read my post properly you'd see i said Adel "OF LATE" has shown he's more than capable at this level. Not sure why you're highlighting his negative side, i don't need you to do that as i also mentioned i've slated him plenty of times for his bad points over recent times when he thinks he's more important than the team or gets complacent... ask Marshy from his thread the other week whether i defend Adel and think he's some sort of hero as you put it.... I stand by what i said though, of late he's doing all the good things well, putting in a shift and creating chances and scoring goals so certainly has a place.... Mackie runs a lot, which does have a value to the team of course, but for me, in our situation we need grafters with more quality than he offers.

Some fans just see to rate Mackie because he runs. " defenders nightmare" how? He rarely scores, beats a man or gets in a decent cross.
Hopefully he will do something today as this is probably his level.

Mackie was on the left most of first half and their RB done a right number on him - marked him out the game. He looked a cracking player tbf. Second half same story when he was on the right - didn't do much at all. Hope he doesn't start vs city. I'd like to see traore LM.

Exactly - he aint much cop at defending but he ain't half handy going forward. Fabio LB behind him.

Mackie has been poor this season. But I would like others to have his attitude, with better skills of course.
