Indeed, but he could've got that money anyway and still played the game he was gifted enough to play.Originally posted by Felt View PostNo doubt, but at 40k a week for five years he's made off with 10.4 million quid for 19 appearances. Not bad work if you can get it!
Now he's become a laughing stock, and only has £3.57 left to his name after blowing the rest on pasties and alcohol.

Also highlights that Mark Hughes knows FARK ALL. Does he get anything right I wonder...
Pearce's successor Mark Hughes who said: "He is an outstanding young player with a great talent and a great future ahead of him and we want that future to be at City, so we are working to that end.
"The guy has everything in front of him.
"We have all been impressed with what he has shown so far, and I am sure he will be an England regular.
"Michael needs to keep working, but we can help him. We want him to be the best he can be because he has all the right qualities."

True, young players now are spoilt with money and many don't know what to do with it.Originally posted by Del View PostWhat a waste... was a very good prospect. This is what happens when some kids get given £40k a week..... In the old days they'd still be scrubbing boots of the senior players, and greatful for a chance of being involved with the first team. Not any more.
Players like Johnson should be held as examples of how not to behave for both players and clubs.
If young players don't sign contracts with their club and leave for a better financial offer then they are probably not the kind who would be loyal or hardworking.

People like this don't get my pity - they make me angry. He was one of the luckiest people on the planet to get a chance to be a pro footballer and wastes it.

Why are people digging out Hughes for his comments he probably made 4 or 5 years ago!? Hardly his fault a player who he didn't sign, and managed for a year let his career go to waste.
Johnson was indeed a talent when he first emerged, few could have predicted this is what would become of him!
