My thoughts also. How can he be the payer he was if Stoke never played him.... They're hardly awash with quality in midfield! Also he'll be nowhere near match fit.

Also they spunked £8m on him 18 months ago so will be expecting a big chunk of that back no doubt.... Concerns me we could be wasting a big chunk of our budget on a dud in an area we're not weak.

Lots of Stoke fans were saying why would they want him when he isn't a patch on Faurlin or even Mbia and Diakite. Maybe Harry will turn round all these under-performing old stagers, but we said much the same about Dyer, Bosingwa, Johnson etc. It wasn't an unalloyed success.

Top player who has had knee problems hense the limited game time at stoke . If he's properly assessed and harry wants him I think he'd be a quality addition . Just my opinion

lot of nonsense on here. he helped spurs to the CL quarter finals and while he ultimately lacked the technical quality to constantly compete in a top 4 side, he would be a great signing if the fee wasnt too high. This is a player who Spurs beat Man Utd to the capture of just 4 years ago. Much better than Diakite and more Premiership-ready than M'bia who isnt up to the pace yet. Loan signing would be ideal
