Does Redknapp ever sign players from lower leagues?

I'm not a Redknapp expert, but I can't recall him going too often to lower leagues to buy up and coming players. I fear this transfer window may consist of the usual 'past it' pro's out for a final pay day, or at best a few loans for those not able to make their Premier League team first eleven on a regular basis. What do you think?

Not sure but he has a good record of bringing young players through to the first team who go on to do well in football like at West Ham that Lampard/Ferdinand generation at Tottenham there is Bale and Walker he has worked with Defoe and Cole since he was at school etc. So if I was to guess I think the promotion of "up and coming players" will be from the current youth team more than signing the current flavour of the month from the championship.
