Mistaken I.D?

Now there's a little story that did the rounds a while back.
The club wanted a left back
A "Super Agent" quite high up in the club who prided himself on knowing a thing or three about footy decides he'll recruit the player.
We played Coventry on a Tuesday and their left back tore us a new one scoring a great freekick etc
A week or so later he decides to make his move and armed with the programme from the weeks previous game slaps in a £500k offer for Number 3, Mr G Borrowdale (Eng)
Hand snapped off

Now we all know how that little transfer ended up
The thing that's funny once you look through the sadness is the left back that night was (I think) Danny Fox who went on to play for Celtic and (I think) now at Saints. Borrowdale started as Coventrys 1st choice left back that season but was soon put out to seed. In fact he wasn't even making their reserve squad so our "Super Agent" was convinced he was getting his man

It may not be true and the part of the management team of that time who told me may have been winding me up

not sure where the op is coming from. Ok the other 1 might be good but I am more than happy with samba. He is big strong and has massive potential. Unfortunately it won't be with us but him and mbia and a top 6 centre midfield pairing that would out muscle and out fox most pairings.
