  • I feel gutted for Tony

In Tony Fernandes we have IMO the best chairman we could ever wish for, and the best chairman in the business. He's given us hope that our club can compete in this division and has set about the task of rebuilding our club and providing players and fans with much better facilities.

He's put his hand in his pocket and spent money. He's backed his managers' decisions and given them what they wanted. He employed Hughes in the genuine and sincere belief that he was a promising up and coming manager. Many fans and football pundits said he was a good manager and would be able to take us to the next level. Even when things started to go wrong, Tony backed his man. Hughes has let him down badly.

Tony knows it is going to cost a small fortune to get rid of the man he trusted to deliver. I don't think that's the problem. It is finding the right man to save us. Someone who can not only save us, but take us forward for the future. We know Tony doesn't like to do short term stuff, it's all about the long game. He must be having a terrible struggle trying to decide what's best for the club.

And for all the effort he's put into QPR, what might his reward be? It could be the humiliation of seeing the club relegated from the prem. No way does he deserve this after all he's done for us. We don't deserve it either. Just one man is responsible for this sad state of affairs - Hughes. If this man had any dignity or self-respect, he'd walk.

Whatever happens in the future, Tony Fernandes will always be a revered and respected person in the history of our club. I hope he sticks at it because we know he can deliver, and we fans know we'll never have another chairman like him.

We may not be happy bunnies at the moment, we might hate our manager and a lot of our players, but let's all get behind the chairman and stay loyal to him. We need to support him in the tough decisions he has to take for the benefit of our club.

    IN TONY WE TRUST.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Is there anyway we can send him this posting. He is apparently getting a lot of abuse on twitter which hopefully he is ignoring, but it would be nice if he could receive something in support.

But isn't Tony making the same mistakes as the chicken farmers? Having an owner whose knowldege of football, and its complex machinations, could be written on the back of a postage stamp is a recipe for disaster.

It seems Mark Hughes just wanted someone to massage his ego and allow him to spend money with gay abandon, without a thought of the long term implications, in the forlorn hope it would come off and a big club would come in so he could go off at the drop of a hat.

I don't think Tony is blameless in all of this. He must be asking himself some really searchig questions right now, because our club is being driven to hell in a handcart - with Sparkless at the wheel!

Let's be fair here. Tony, quite rightly, runs it as a business and employs specialist people to do specialist jobs. Hughes is one of these specialists. Every business has employed people who, on the surface, seem the right people but in the end prove they're not. This has happened with Hughes.

I have a lot of respect for Tony Fernandes for what he has attempted to do for our club, it just hasn't worked out very well to say the least! It's going to be interesting how he handles this crisis and deals with replacing the manager he chose and put so much faith in! As far as feeling sorry for him, not in the least, he's a very wealthy man, feel sorry for us poor sods who struggle to make a living every day!

while Hughes has to be blamed for his poor running of first team affairs, TF has blindly funded his madness. Wonderful support, but for a brilliant businessman (which he clearly is) he hasn't half been swindled time after time again. I wonder who is advising him on where this money is being spent, because for football decisions with the playing staff, they have gone down a very slippery slope

Seems to have put all his trust in Hughes...BIG mistake number 1 already made
Not sacking Hughes after one of the worst starts in premier league history....Mistake number 2 unless he sacks him this week.

Hesitation is going to cost us and if has not been lining up Hughes' replacement since the Reading game then thats a mistake as well.
He must act and not waste any more games with Hughes in charge as looking at the games i cant see us realistically having more than 10 points total by end of December (then in January we have Man City/Spurs/Chelsea/ West Ham!)

As they say you learn by your mistakes (we just happen to be feeling the brunt of it) and athough i too feel for him, he is the one who made the mistake.

Just one thing though, some people (not me, by the way) would say it's difficult to comprehend the feelings of someone who has as much money as Tony has.

Avoiding the drop last season was a big achievement for the the players, manager, chairman and the club - we were dead and buried for the last 10 games or so.
Maybe TF thinks it can be done again - he is always talking about stability - and it shows in his actions - remember he came from little to become a successful business man.
Youth system, training ground, scouting system, Beard, new ground - things we never could dream off.
Stability is his dilemma now - he will stick to what has worked for him in his businesses.

The only things he will witness going up if he sticks with MH are his planes.

I think we should all send TF a message on twitter to let him know we are behind him 110% even if we are not happy with MH.
