Bit Harsh on Faurlin.. he may have beena little slack there, but last season before his injury his tackles won stat was about 50% better than any other midfielder in the prem. That's ultimately what a CDM should be doing, breaking up opposition play and then starting our own attacks, and that's what his strength is.

Derry will try his best but this is not good enough as he is well past at EPL level. We should have realised him and had a decent CB in the squad.

        Derry isn't the answer.
3 man midfield of Granero, Faurlin and Diakete. Tarbs one wing and either Makie/Hoilett on the other.
Back 4 of Nelsen, Nelsen, Nelsen & Neslen

WHY WHY WHY Hughes keeps persisting with a lop sided awkward S**t 4-4-2 I will never know. I could not believe we had our best central midfielder stuck on the right- no wonder he looked totally ****ed off the entire game.

The truth is, after Saturday, I don't know where we go as a team and as a club.

I sometimes feel you need drastic change when nothing else is working.
only change I'd make Marshy is Faurlin for Hoilett, afraid either way won't make a difference to the scoreline, think it will be painful. Agree with Derry in front of the back four, need to calm down a few of the more excitable ones
I must away now, I can no longer tarry

            After seeing the lack of fight we gave against Southampton I would be VERY tempted to play this team;

            Cesar
            Bosingwa----Nelsen---Hill----Traore
            Derry
            Hogan------Faurlin----Hoilett
            Taarabt
            Mackie

Subs - Diakete, Ferdinand, Granero, Faurlin, Cisse, Green.

This would mean that we could go for the game second half (60 mins) by bringing either off Faurlin for Granero and bringing off either Hogan or Holiett for Diakete, and the maybe bringing off a midfielder or defender for cisse if we're still in the game. If we're going to survive we need to hold onto our Leads and keep cleansheets, hopefully Hughes (or however) can sort this out, even if it means extreme change in personnel, and the players that don't normally feature will have a chance to prove themselves against Man Utd, that may get some heart and desire out of this side. As for Traore and Bosingwa they can't really be replaced unless you want the extremely unfit Onuoha playing instead of Secret Agent Bosingwa on a mission to ruin our season with rubbish crosses and poor tracking back, anyhow, I have noticed how Granero cannot play with Faurlin, it is a bit of Gerrard and Lampard syndrome in Qpr and I think we're going to have to stick to playing one of them if we want the best performance from them, let's just hope that Hogan and the others are fitter than the team Hughes has put out every week, because are fitness program must be dire looking at the majority of the players at 70 mins against Southampton.

Zanney- you're looking for fight from a team and you still include Bosingwa...

Well, Fabio won't play due to the loan agreements, and Onuoha is god awful, and the most unfit pro footballer you'll see in the premier league, so yeah, we have no choice but to play the Secret Agent.

Cant believe people want SWP back in again. why, what has he done under Mark Hughes to suggest he is worth a place in the side?

He reatins possession, does he? Not at Man City in injurty time last season he didn't. lost possession (if memory serves me right) and they went on to score the winner that could have relegated the team. Not that this was the only time he lost possession. He runs into players, his crosses go out for goal kicks, his shots high or wide and doesnt run past players often enough for a winger.

Bosingwa like Onuoha and Ferdinand is a waste of space. I'd rather start with Nelsen and Mbia or Hill at the centre of defence.

Dyer if fit should start at right back and Traore at left back (only because Fabio is not available for a game against his parent club).

We need to be picking a team without the likes of Bosingwa, Ferdinand, SWP, Cisse and Onuoha. So bearing in mind Fabio probably won't be allowed to play Sat due to the loan agreement with Man Ure, how about this to start Sat?

                    ---------------------------------Ceasar------------------------------

                    -----------Nelsen----------------Mbia----------------Hill------------

                    Dyer----------------------------------------------------------Traore

                    -----------Granero-------------Diakite---------------Faurlin---------

                    ---------------------Hoillett---------------Taarabt-------------------

Solid back 3, with 2 x dogs of war (Nelsen and Hill) at attacking the ball and marking up with Mbia's speed and agility to act as a sweeper to cover the other 2 and also possessing the ability to bring the ball out of defence as he is comfortable with the ball at his feet. We would also possesss a potent force at both attacking set pieces and defending them with the added height of an extra Centre Half.

2 good attacking full backs to give the team the width it desperately needs, but who both have the added luxury of 3 defenders already behind them to cover them when they bomb forward. I think we would all agree that Dyer and Traore's best asset is attacking and not defending!

Again, 3 solid Central players, this time in Midfield. Granero this time playing a more central role where he is so more effective, not wasted wide on the right.

Leaving the pace, trickery and skill of the two upfront, played as a two upfront, NOT a single striker on his own!

Also Mackie to possibly come on to add extra effort and enthusiasm from the bench as our impact Supersub!

And more importantly, this team consists of NONE of the gutless, money grabbing, mercenaries at our club who are prepared to put in little or no effort for the cause!

                    What does everyone think?

I actually really like this team. Defence looks solid, and midfield looks like it won't be overrun, and up front we have two tricky players who can cause them trouble at the back. I have actually recently been mulling over the idea of playing Tarbs as a striker these days, he has the physical strength now to hold the ball up and the skill to bring others into play.

The only way it would have goals written all over it is if you print this thread and get a pen. Toilett is hopeless in front of goal and Adel is not much better (He was superb in the fizzy pop league). Adel has been doing really well, doing what he does, but he is not a striker.
