Drastic team change - start with Mackie and Derry

    ----------------------Cesar---------------------
    Fabio ------ Nelsen -------------M'bia-----Traore
    ----------------------Derry---------------------
    Granero--------------Diakite--------------Hoilett
    ----------------------Tarbs---------------------
    ---------------------Mackie--------------------

I think against Man Utd we need players who can put in a shift. Derry's my fav player, so maybe I am biased, but I would like to see him in there protecting the back four. Have Mackie up there who can chase their defenders and not give them time on the ball. And hopefully let Tarbs and Hoilett get forward on the counter and conjure up something.

Derry starting vs Utd at Old Trafford? Please god no.

Love the bloke, but he aint upto it. Granero wide right is a no go - total waste of his ability putting him out there. Only IMO of course - not saying I know best at all.

    Id go with:

    Cesar
Fabio (if allowed?) Nelsen Mbia Traore
    Faurlin Diakite
    Tarbs Granero Hoilet
    Cisse.

Would go with Zamora for this game but the raspberry is injured and leaves us no option but to play Cisse.

In all honesty I fear a potential tonking in this one. Fergie is guna have em right up for it after their defeat at Naarwich.

I agree Granero is wasted out right, but that is the only place I could find for him.

I think Derry still has a season left in him, and with Faurlin not still back in the rhythm, I would choose Derry.

I sometimes feel you need drastic change when nothing else is working.

Good shout Marshy.I'd have had Derry and Mackie on from the start against Southampton, they couldn't have done any worse.I'm not a great fan of Cesar (two own goals already I think),and chooses to punch the ball half the time which is always risky, but with Green as an alternative,we haven't got much choice.

I think Granero is good enough to play out of position!

                Saturdays performance would suggest otherwise.

I missed the game on Saturday as I was abroad, but from what I read, no one exactly covered themselves in glory on Saturday. It seems it was just one of those days where the whole team was lethargic and no was able to lift anyone else, so I'd like to give him another try.

Matty's being kind. He was aboslutely awful. We had nothing down that side. He looked lost and Bosingwa couldn't care less. You only have to see him play to realise that playing right mid isn't for him.

Well he wasn't on Saturday. He was one of the worst players. Play him in the middle at the front of a diamond. Taabs on the left; it unbalances this sh1t team if he's in the centre (it didn't work against Swansea, Stoke or Soton); he made the Soton goal from the left. Two of Faurlin, Derry and Diakite as DM. Dyer RB and if Fabio's not available then it has to be that useless fu@kwit Traore LB. Taabs on the left can make that piece of sh1t vaguely useful going forward. Mbia and Nelsen CBs. Cisse up front (Christ how sh1te has he been?) by himself. Ferdinand and Boswinga must not even be on the bench.

Fabio probably won't be able to play.

Granero on the right was a joke decision by Hughes. Our best midfielder all season out of position. It's pathetic management.

The anti-Bosingwa comments are a bit harsh. I am not saying he is the greatest player, but he wasn't dis-interested. The team was just very poor overall.

                            For Saturday I'd go for:

                            Cesar
                            Bosingwa Nelson M'Bia Traore
                            Hoilett Faurlin Granero Diakite Adel
                            Mackie

Mackie can actually hold the ball up, he can score and he can work his socks off. I'd give him a go in his fave position. I did ponder Derry instead of Faurlin who was poor on saturday. I wouldn't be disappointed to see that. If any of the central mf's should play wide it would be Diakite, who is quick and likes to run at defences in the inside forward positions.

The best way we can trouble Man Utd is to press them, and with this team I think we can do that.

Fabio won't be able to play and as for Derry and Mackie, oh me oh my, we might as well just send the Premiership a note saying Man U can have all 3 points and a plus 6 in their goals for column.

                              I'd have:

                              Cesar
                              Dyer Ferdinand Onuoha Nelson Traore
                              Mbia Granero Diakite
                              Taarabt
