Staying up last season was probably the worst thing to happen

In hindsight I actually think this has done more harm than good to the financial future of the club. If we had gone down Hughes would have walked meaning £12 million saved plus we would have got rid of the likes of Cisse (probably got decent money for him aswell based on end of last season form), Zamora, etc.

We could have rebuilt this season with someone like Holloway (who I have no doubt would have come back) and maybe even have got promoted at first attempt and be back in the Premiership for the £100 million jackpot which we are now going to miss out on and probably never ever be capable of reaching the Premiership again.

Yes, but we did stay up last season, so we should now be good enough to stay in the premiership. I still think we have better players than last season and should be getting better results.

We are where we are, I think we need to trust that Fernandes has seen enough to get rid of Hughes and hope that he gets the right guy in next. All is not lost, the right manager can still keep us up!

I do hope you are right, it is do or die for the club now. After yesterday I am now one of the 'I think we are already down' brigade, but we need to all try to reverse that and get behind the players/manager as they need us to be positive now more than ever. Positivity by Saints yesterday was probably a key factor in their win, our support was totally flat.

my fear is if tony do not sack MH we will start picking up a few points and tony will start thinking it will be ok now then we go back to our old ways losing more games.......then we get to the point where we are running out of games

Yeah, and unfortunately our terrible performance yesterday has given Southampton 3 points and the impetus they need to kick on. As I say, it is not the end of the world though, there are a lot of very average sides at the bottom of the table and with somebody like Redknapp in charge, I could see us getting the run of 3 or 4 wins required to dig ourselves out of the mire!

Yeah, as I mentioned on another post yesterday I think letting Helguson go was the biggest mistake Hughes made.

Staying up was a miracle I was thankful for, and still am.
Nobody, but nobody, could have forseen just how bad a start we would have made this season, especially with the squad of players we now have.
What is happening to us is criminal, absolutely criminal, and underperforming players carry a large part of the blame.
The club hired these mercenaries in good faith, most of us were very pleased with our transfer activity in the last couple of windows, we the fans, the club, the board, have been cruelly decieved by these idiots.
Come January, we should get rid of as many of 'em, as possible.
