Depressing that he reckons our two most likely signings are free agents. He even suggests Webber wd be more a squad player - what is the point of that, we already have a large squad of strikers, the problem is that none of them are v gd. Still, if Beckford and Nugent are no goes then there aren't many obvious candidates, we've missed them all. Bent probably the best remaining option but unlikely to be prolific.

i know that we were looking at Murphy from sunderland before (I dont honestly know whether he is any good!) or what about Carrol from Newcastle? again Im sure people on here will have a better idea of how useful they would be to us!

I'd take Webber. Never been prolific but I think if he can get fit and sharp then he could well end up our top goalscorer this season. I hope we go for him and the Sousa's Swansea don't get there first!

Agreed. Surely if Cox was bought for £1.9m neither of these two would be anymore than that. Scunny have the smallest budget in the league so £1.5m for Hooper would make a difference financially to them.

Top 20 goal a season strikers are very very hard to get hold of...... clubs do not want to sell them unless it is silly money...
