  • My take on last night...

Was a very entertaining game to watch between two sides trying to play the game in the right way, but at the end of the day the same old problems cost us the points and that's the fact that we don't have a goalscorer at the club.

Bristol City had the much the better of the first half and we were pretty lucky to go in at half time level with Cerny making a few decent saves and Buzsaky making an excellent goal line clearence after a City corner.

Second half started excellently for us and we really bossed the midfield, Routledge on the right was immense once again and he caused the City defence all sorts of problems including our best chance of the game when he flashed an excellent ball across the six yard box to Taarabt who had an open goal at his mercy but somehow managed to volley it onto the far post

Anyway, Bristol City got back into the game after their new signing went off with a serious injury after less than 10 minutes of their debut and got the winning goal with just over 10 minutes to go through Nicky Maynard with an excellent strike from the edge of the box that thundered past Cerny into the roof of the net. To be fair, it was a goal worthy of winning any game.

The nasty injury to their new signing resulted in 7 minutes of injury time which seemed to spur us on a bit as we went on all out attack trying to find the equalizer and in the 93rd minute we should really have found it. Leigertwood made an excellent run into the box, Rowan Vine spotted him laid on an excellent through ball which found Legs on the penalty spot with just the keeper to beat. For some reason he decided to take three touches and shoot straight into the keeper when in all honesty one touch and a shot would've found the net with ease. After that chance was missed I just knew it wasn't going to be and it was another disappointing away trip for us, albeit from an excellent game of football.

If we don't sign a striker or two before the end of the month it's going to be a boring mid table season for us. We've created so many excellent chances in our first 3 league games, but we literally have nobody there to finish them off as shown by our meagre 2 goals scored so far.

Fair play to the City fans to the right of us last night, they didn't shut up once and kept a chance on "Red Army" going for a good 20 minutes during the second half.
