Lee Cook hits out at Park

QPR captain Ji-Sung Park has been accused of heading to Loftus Road for a final pay-day.

The South Korean, 31, was among the big-name arrivals in Mark Hughes’ summer signing spree.

But the £2.5million recruit from Manchester United and his fellow new faces have failed to fire.

And ex-QPR midfielder Lee Cook has now questioned their motives as the winless West Londoners prop up the table.

I find the comment about Park a bit ridiculous. Park admitted that United offered him more to stay and frankly with his star appeal in Asia, financial reward is not his biggest concern. He came to QPR, like the other notable talents, because he bought into what QPR was trying to build and achieve. Unfortunately, the early results have not reflected the desired outcome but that's another issue.

No he wasn't - he was offered more money from a club in Asia that are a rich pub team. His career was over at Utd. Also his star appeal in Asia is pretty limited to SK, I never saw any mention of him anywhere in the times I have been around Asia when he was at his peak. We have got way to excited here about him being the Asian Beckham - he simply isn't.

And me.... it's embarrassing. Looks like Park will be the next quality player to be the annual scapegoat/target and will leave like so many others before him, and yet again we would have missed out on seeing the best of a great player.

If everyone's so bothered about the wages, we could always go and get some cheap non- league players to come in?

Actually, it was Man United that offered him more money and while he would obviously have large star status in SK, he is well regarded in other parts of asia - just look at the QPR pre-season tour. I think what appealed to him the most was to join a team where he could make the most impact in the back half of his career. It was not going to happen in Manchester with the talent pool they had. He has not made the impact he had hoped and the rest of the R fan base. Fair to assess his play but his motivation for coming for cash really doesn't make sense to me. To your point if it was about the big day his could have gone to SK and make a boat load more than what he's making at QPR.
