    Scholes and Ballack

I would have loved it if we could have managed to prize Scholes to Loftus Road. Yes, he's Man Utd through and through and Fergie would not like him to leave, but if we offered him a new challenge, one of a player-coach, maybe, just maybe, he would have considered it. If you don't try, you never know, eh? By far the best midfielder to have been produced by this country in the past two decades - the only one who can be truly described as "world class".

And as Ballack is a free-agent, I would have loved to have seen us try and get him to LR. At the stage of his career, I don't think his salary demand would be high, he'd probably just be happy to be playing in the top flight. He might be getting on, but still a class player who never fulfilled his potential at Chelski because he always had to play out of position to suit fat Frank.

Great post..... in fact we were on the brink of signing him.....quote below from the man himself....

"Me and my agent tried everything to join QPR but it just wasn't too be. What they were offering was very tempting but if they had thrown in a bit of coaching too, I would've jumped at the chance. These things happen and I'll just have to pick myself up and carry on....."

Right, back to my new thread....

Ok Scholes is good, but believe me only because he plays for Man Utd and managed by SAF people rate him so much.

Nonsense. You know nothing about the guy other than the few bits and bobs you have heard from the media, and yet you sit there and pretend that you know the guy inside out.

There used to be people who would say Schumacher would never race for anyone again but Ferrari ... look what happened there.

There used to be people who would say David Batty would never play for anyone but Leeds ... yeah, right!

The fact is, some people need a change at some point in their life, and it would have been great if someone like Scholes could have been enticed to join QPR. But as I said in my original thread, the likelihood of this happening would have been very slim, which most people replying to this thread seem to have missed out!

Judging by you OP I know a lot more about him than you. In fact do you know who he was playing for before Man U convinced him to come back? Thought not. Go look it up.

He wasnt "playing" for anybody was he? Maybe training? Anyway, my guess is Oldham ? I only say these as I am sure I once saw him quoted as saying the only other club he would play for is Oldham - who he has supported his whole life.

Yes he was. wikipedia doesn't have everything on it. Scholes point was about professional clubs.
