Park came to QPR to help legitimize a team that was struggling to find it's identity in the pl. Hughes brought him here to elevate the team by example as a proven big game player who would work his ass off to cushion the growing pains of this team as they try to fill its shoes as a proper premier league team. He will have his moments but he is not going to be the star player; he enables the stars to come out on a team thru his effort, selflessness and professionalism on and off the pitch. His example will hopefully lead selfish players and individuals to gel into a proper team. Is this being a leader or not. I've heard people on this site talk about how they haven't seen him do anything spectacular; I agree; he just breaks up plays, tracks back on counter-attacks, keeps possession in midfield to alleviate pressure on the defense, doesn't try to take it one-on-one like a selfish clod (it helps when people run to the proper spaces to give him a pass to give).
That being said, if Hughes and the fans want a more offensive game from Park, he has to play wide right or a free-to-roam attacking midfielder. He is sacrificing his game to help this team gel and solidify.
