So will we beat the near post from our corners tonight?

Our corners this season and in recent years have been a joke.
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

Amazes me even at premiership level that a man can be paid thousands of pounds a week and not clear the first man from a corner.

I've always been a believer in the full back taking corners. It's not a direct free kick so we are looking for general areas to get the ball in to which ANY pro should be able to do. Both CB's in the box with the CF(s) & the creative players(Faurlin, buzz, tarrabt) Floating around to pick up the scraps. Routledge & Mahon/Legs/Rowlands held back. Routledge for his pace to get back, the others to put there boot through baal/man to stop the counter. Percentage wise having as many lumps in the box to attack the ball will yield better dividends. Gorkks/Hall/Stewart are not exactly prolific but get there fair share & would definitely cause a few problems. Just a thought.

Think him and Buz will be all over the set plays.

Our set pieces have been awful for the last few years, what annoys is that corners or free kicks around the box are another chance to score goals maybe this is why our goals total in recent years is so bad.

Remember gorkss scored around 10goals in his last season with blackpool before he joined us there must be something in that stat......
