    luke young?

i can understand players being moved on but for me luke young is an half decent defender that chips in with the odd goal or 2, i dont know why hughes didnt give him a chance.

Probably just not a Hughes type player. I also rated him, but he did make quite a few big mistakes in a few games which caused the opposition to score quite a few goals that I can remember! Another one that's good going forward but crap at defending!

I went through all our goals last season that we conceded and he was at fault for 12 of them.

And people had the cheek to ding out other members of the back 4. He was our worst culprit. I am glad Hughes has noticed this.

I agree with you Hammersmith. I thought he was not good enough at all. He may have scored the odd goal but this was simply not good enough. He needed to be much more on his game, he never really seems to be in control of his position.

Yep also in agreement chaps . Very good in his day but if we are to move forward then Luke just doesn't cut it . Could have filled the gaps for another season I think but as a premier league right back I think he's probably past it . Gets caught out far too often .

Good player, would rather have seen him in the 25 man squad than Dyer if I'm honest. Hope he finds a good club to take him on loan

i thought he was ok, but then again i didnt go through our goals. Suprised he was at fault for so many, got to be a better bet than Dyer though surely ?

                      Bang on!

Young flatters to deceive because he looks good on the ball and he offers something going forward. The fact is he gets caught out far too often, regularly getting out of position and these doesn't have the pace to get back into position, also pretty poor in the air. Onuha and Boswinga are both better options at right back, the jury is still out on Fabio, definitely likes to put it about and get forward, it's all little too kamikaze for the Premiership for me though!

At fault for 12? I havent sat and run through every single goal like you, obviously, but I find that very hard to believe tbh. Im pretty sure more than half of those alot of people wouldnt blame Young for, theres hardly any stand out goals that Young was glaringly at fault for - let alone 12. You could go through any goal and, if you really wanted, pick faults from a few players and blame them for their part in the goal.

Young is alright, comfortable back up IMO.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Good note mate. That clarifies then. I also wonder how many because of Ferdinand as well.
