I can remember one trip to Ninian Park, where the OB had to escort us back to the train station in meat wagons as the locals were not only attacking our fans, but were stealing their designer tracksuits & Pringles (not the crisps); never seen so many 'rude boys' sitting on a train in their boxers

      Interesting thread.
I can remember as a kid looking at the Season Ticket prices and wondering if I would ever be able to afford £18 for a Season Ticket (18 quid for a whole season!)
I felt very jealous of my (then) 8 year old when we went up a couple of seasons ago - being able to watch a genius (in that league at least!) like Adel as I used to watch Stan, and then running on to the pitch at the end of the Leeds game.
I wonder what the game will be like when he's in his 40s?

remember forest fans lighting fires all across the old sch. boy end 1979ish. ellerslie in those days was classed as the grandad stand and some of our seniors shook there fists in anger.

            A terrific thread OP,thanks.

My thoughts are that football is more accessible and fans, including me, are more interested in the rubbig of the club and where our money is going. We didn't have fantasy leagues, sky sports reporting every minute about everything in football. we all have access to all the information now it is a lot easier to see what is going on in our club. things like this forum this wouldn't have existed 20 years ago we are all sharing the views now which are the same views we would've said in the pub throughout the week. Technology has advanced to the point where everything thinks that they themselves can selected the best team because they are up to date with it all. This makes us fans more demanding and therefore, less simple.

Just my opinion though.have read some other great ones on here too.

interesting points nw. shows just how far the game has moved on from my time and even more from the op's. often the best you could hope for was the tele-printer on bbc to find out other results. sky brought the game into the new-age and changed the face of football and even for the neutral is a must see. saying all that i would'nt change my times. wish my kids had the chance to feel the buzz every game-a game a season for mine is the best they do.
