"Look, we know you haven't quite scored twenty goals a season yet and you are a bit unproven but just take a look at our cracking midfield. With that set of midfielders they will create you so many chances you can go and fill your boots and raise your profile no end. We have had the most shots at goal but no end product and that's where you come in to help take us up the table towards the Premier League or Play Offs."
Or do we say:
Come and join us. You'll be playing alongside Heider Helguson, Dave, A bloke returning from injury, a youngster and a journeyman Italian?
Is that why no striker comes to us?
